For this question we are going to need an additional answer selections. Here are some suggestions; Yes, I've seen this personally Please wash my eyes with acid I have no idea, but I don't know if I'm willing to go to the depths required to definitely prove this one way or the other. Deadpool Old-Timey Member Posted January 25, 2020 Posted January 25, 2020 Put me in camp "It wouldn't surprise me in the least, but there's no actual proof at this point."
Krylian Old-Timey Member Posted January 26, 2020 Posted January 26, 2020 Put me in camp "It wouldn't surprise me in the least, but there's no actual proof at this point." Regarding Altuve, women's underwear, both, or other?

Beans Verified Member Posted January 31, 2020 Posted January 31, 2020 A fan did a study of every pitch in 58 home games that year and found that while plenty of players were receiving alert bangs, 7 of the 9 in the starting lineup around 18%, Jose Altuve only had alert bangs on 2.8% of pitches. http://signstealingscandal.com/?utm_source=newsletter&utm_medium=email&utm_campaign=newsletter_axiossports&stream=top

Maybe Altuve was just getting more fastballs? If not, certainly gives a shitload of merit to the buzzer accusation. I'm just confused as to why only Altuve would be wearing a buzzer.

onwego Verified Member Posted January 31, 2020 Posted January 31, 2020 I look forward to seeing a lot of on-speed pitches in front of and behind his head all season.

In Manfred's report it said "one or two bangs corresponded to certain offspeed pitches, while no bang corresponded to a fastball." They were mostly taking the offspeed pitches they knew were coming, because more often than not those pitches end up being balls. And then they were teeing up on the fastballs.
Boxcar Old-Timey Member Posted February 2, 2020 Posted February 2, 2020 What do you mean? I thought the bangs were to alert if they were offspeed... Right, what I'm trying to figure out is the total % of offspeed pitches faced vs. the % of pitches with banging to see if they always banged or just chilled out some games.
