You ever think, what if we don't make the playoffs for a prolonged stretch like prior to 2015. I'd prefer to see some playoff baseball within the next 5 years, 20 would be unimaginable.

It's always possible. Having the Yankees and Red Sox in our division is a big obstacle to start with, but if the Rays can be competitive and get to some post seasons there's no reason we can't ... Unless we have incompetent management making decisions. Our margin for error isn't big... Our ownership isn't a fan of taking major risks and I don't think likes paying to makes mistakes go away.

I’ve been a huge advocate of Gurriel in LF since before they sent him down in April. He even surprised me a bit, fits there a lot more than 2B and has been nice to see. There’s going to be errors occasionally as he builds reps and learn the position, but he’s already made a few spectacular plays there in small sample and hasn’t been a big liability defensively. His bat also plays in the corner if he hits like this.
