Effit Old-Timey Member Posted July 5, 2018 Posted July 5, 2018 Remember when Stroman was good? Fun times.
5ToolPhenom Verified Member Posted July 5, 2018 Posted July 5, 2018 What do you guys make of Stromans struggle? He still has a great ground-ball and K rate and his advanced metrics are still pretty good.

5ToolPhenom Verified Member Posted July 5, 2018 Posted July 5, 2018 Jeeze really, there's just no thump in this lineup anymore. One would've figured Jays would mash against Oswalt .
Jonn Old-Timey Member Posted July 5, 2018 Posted July 5, 2018 Stroman was awful tonight. He just doesn’t throw strikes. Maybe he should worry less about his shimmys and work more on finishing his pitches properly. I can’t believe its July 4th and his ERA is 6.50.
5ToolPhenom Verified Member Posted July 5, 2018 Posted July 5, 2018 Been a pretty unexciting last 2 seasons. Seems a lot of the band-wagoners have jumped off too. Rogers can't be pleased.

That's gotta have an affect on his struggles. There's a big difference between 94.2 and 92.5

Jonn Old-Timey Member Posted July 5, 2018 Posted July 5, 2018 We're 8th in baseball in home runs. Not enough base runners is the bigger issue. We knew that going into the season. We don’t have the personal to get on base. A lot of free and aggressive swingers. Really only Granderson, Smoak, and Martin have interest in drawing walks.

I suppose you're right about the base runners. I've noticed that there's not very many guys that grind out at-bats on this team. You watch the Red-Sox and they're always working counts and making the pitcher work. I hate to say it, but the Jays are a bit of a boring team to watch right now.
Arjun Nimmala Vancouver Canadians - A+ SS It's been slow going at the start of the season for Nimmala, but on Sunday, he was 3-for-5 with his 3rd home run and 3 RBI. Explore Arjun Nimmala News >
