Why was Lourdes sent down, is Gio that much better?

Sorry, i missed a few games and didnt see it addressed here, or in another thread.

I thought Lourdes was doing ok. I knew we picked up Gio, and maybe Gio is out of options?

I would rather give Loudes at bats up here then Gio who is fringy at best.
