Dr. Dinger Old-Timey Member Posted January 23, 2016 Posted January 23, 2016 27 year old who just had a 2.69 xFIP with a benign tumor in his upper back that was affecting his mechanics? Easy top 6 pitcher. With a history of injuries to his arm and oblique. That's why he fell, rightly or wrongly.
TRM Verified Member Posted January 23, 2016 Posted January 23, 2016 I don't even know how you'd be able to argue him over Scherzer. I'd take him before the rest of those names, though, save Price who I'd flip flop on. Boxy, it was neat to see how closely Puig and Harvey went here, given the trade we made in August.
BTS Community Moderator Posted January 23, 2016 Posted January 23, 2016 If Strasburg is more productive than Bumgarner going forward I will eat my hat.

burlingtonbandit Old-Timey Member Posted January 23, 2016 Posted January 23, 2016 UGHHHHHHHHHhhhh How was he still around? I'd take him over Bumgarner, Scherzer, Syndergaard, Harvey, Cole, Price, deGrom, and Carrasco. Yeah he certainly was by far the best talent on the board. I can understand why he fell like he did because of the injury concern. Interesting you'd take him over Bumgarner though?
Dr. Dinger Old-Timey Member Posted January 23, 2016 Posted January 23, 2016 Boxy, it was neat to see how closely Puig and Harvey went here, given the trade we made in August. I agree, it's neat that I have 3 Top 40 assets on my LOD team.
BTS Community Moderator Posted January 23, 2016 Posted January 23, 2016 Boxy, it was neat to see how closely Puig and Harvey went here, given the trade we made in August. Yeah, but the Harvey pick was good and my Puig pick was awful because he might be a 125 wRC+ bat instead of 145.
TRM Verified Member Posted January 23, 2016 Posted January 23, 2016 Yeah, but the Harvey pick was good and my Puig pick was awful because he might be a 125 wRC+ bat instead of 145. So... Min = Smart Boxy = dumn ?

Bumgarner isn't really a true ace pitcher IRL, his park just makes him one in fantasy. He'd take a huge hit if he moved parks.
TRM Verified Member Posted January 23, 2016 Posted January 23, 2016 Cyborg is gonna despair us, I know it

Cyborg Verified Member Posted January 23, 2016 Posted January 23, 2016 Kind of like how David Price sucks and is a product of Jose Molina? Exactly. Red Sox made a huge mistake.
Boxcar Old-Timey Member Posted January 23, 2016 Posted January 23, 2016 Age. They are so similar stats and mechanics wise. This is a K/BB league, though, which is what makes Scherzer that elite. I also don't really pay much attention to age for pitchers and Max's innings load for his career isn't overwhelming.

Yeah but what are the chances he gets moved, 1% if that? 4 years of AT&T is pretty great value especially since pitching is so much present value to begin with.

Dr. Dinger Old-Timey Member Posted January 23, 2016 Posted January 23, 2016 Gentleman, I've been practicing my Night Moves. Corey Seager - SS LAD YOLO!
Cyborg Verified Member Posted January 23, 2016 Posted January 23, 2016 Gentleman, I've been practicing my Night Moves. Corey Seager - SS LAD YOLO! Interesting, I was debating him.
BTS Community Moderator Posted January 23, 2016 Posted January 23, 2016 Gentleman, I've been practicing my Night Moves. Corey Seager - SS LAD YOLO! 95 wRC+ 3B in a couple years. Very wise.
spittin Verified Member Posted January 23, 2016 Author Posted January 23, 2016 My draft will live or die with my 70, 83, 91 selections since i despaired myself with no second round pick.
Cyborg Verified Member Posted January 23, 2016 Posted January 23, 2016 Strasburg was so close and Dinger just made this decision easier. Michael Brantley.
Dr. Dinger Old-Timey Member Posted January 23, 2016 Posted January 23, 2016 95 wRC+ 3B in a couple years. Very wise. 25 HR, .850 OPS, SS/3B dual eligibility for 10 years. Just a dream come true.
Abomination Old-Timey Member Posted January 23, 2016 Posted January 23, 2016 Gentleman, I've been practicing my Night Moves. Corey Seager - SS LAD YOLO! I would have strongly considered him myself if I didn't already have Correa.
spittin Verified Member Posted January 23, 2016 Author Posted January 23, 2016 Gentleman, I've been practicing my Night Moves. Corey Seager - SS LAD YOLO! I almost hail mary'd that at #43.
