Yeah. f*** that bandaid.

 

(it killed me to get rid of him, but the loot was too good to pass up and it softens the blow when you still have Donaldson as your offensive cornerstone.)

Ok i'll throw something out there. If i had the number 1 pick i would have taken Correa.

I think so yes, definitely over Harper. You can find decent outfielders later, not true with SS after Correa and Tulo.

We have no idea what Correa's ceiling is yet, so I wouldn't rule it out. If he is a Tulo-level producer for the next decade, he could be the #1 fantasy asset. That said, if I really, desperately had to have Correa, you gotta figure you could easily get him at least at 4, if not much lower. It would be super insane to take him at 1.

I don't know how anyone could pass on Harper TBH, he's just so much sexier than Trout both physically and offensively. He just had a 197 wRC+ as a 23 year old! That's better than the best seasons of A-Rod, Pujols, Miggy, Trout, Ortiz, or Votto. We are talking about an inner circle HOF talent and potentially the greatest offensive talent all-time when all is said and done. Barry Bonds didn't have a season that good until he was 28!

Correa over Trout or Harper would be incredibly egregious. You could have Correa + any average outfielder and it would pale in comparison to Harper/Alexei Ramirez or whatever...not like you'd be forced to settle for that.

I agree. Harper is an easy call first overall for me. Regardless of projections, Harper is just such a fun player to be a fan of. He's so exciting.

 

Obviously it's close between him and Trout but for me, I'd need Trout ++ to deal him. He's a freaking monster (and I hope BTS takes him, Trout is boring.)

Trout will stick at CF. And never gets hurt. And I'm not sure Harper is a true talent 190 wRC+ guy going forward.
