Atothe Old-Timey Member Posted August 4, 2014 Posted August 4, 2014 Pompey's dad is the same as Tony Rasmus, let's hope they don't go down the same path Yes but no, I feel Tony lets Colby be Colby but from what I read Pompey's dad is more involved then Colby's dad
Atothe Old-Timey Member Posted August 4, 2014 Posted August 4, 2014 Why are there so many whiny, excuse-making bitches on this team? okay just release him , only all stars are allowed on major league teams
jb22 Verified Member Posted August 4, 2014 Posted August 4, 2014 Why are there so many whiny, excuse-making bitches on this team? Didn't realize they had called up Tony Rasmus, wonder what we can get out of him, hopefully something vs LHP.
comeon sense Verified Member Posted August 4, 2014 Posted August 4, 2014 His swing is too long. His defense is average at best.He hates playing on our turf.If you,re not strong up the middle, you will not win with any consistency.Navarro is okay, along with Goins.23-10 while he was out injured that could have been when they started butting heads.Jays blew it on this guy. They forced him into CF,when he would have been a much better left fielder. He is a rally killer.Hope he does just listen to himself, and do what he thinks he should do at the plate. He should know by now what is best for him. The thing is we want to win now. The A.L. East is anything but weak, and we don`t know if we will be this close next season. Gose in center,or Bautista would be an improvement defensively.
JaysFan4Ever Verified Member Posted August 4, 2014 Posted August 4, 2014 He had tons of success pre Seitzer though. He put up a 4.7 fWAR season last year. Hit 128 wRC+. Yeah, he was a bit lucky (356 BABIP) so he's probably just trying to go back to things he did last year. Gotchya. I hope he can get that swing back. Maybe bring him back on a one year deal, maybe with an option and see if he can do something. I don't like the idea of both him and Melky going to FA and leaving us screwed.

comeon sense Verified Member Posted August 4, 2014 Posted August 4, 2014 Bautista would be an improvement in CF over Rasmus? lolwut Yes. Bautista has a more accurate, stronger arm, more speed. IMO.
GD Old-Timey Member Posted August 4, 2014 Posted August 4, 2014 "Bautista has [...] more speed (than Colby Rasmus)." So that was just said.
comeon sense Verified Member Posted August 4, 2014 Posted August 4, 2014 It's a hopeful username, not ironic. You know, like when your car engine won't turn over ... "come on, start." He's wishing for sense. Thats it! Thankyou Moogy. I can`t say it enough how much i don`t want to see Rasmus in this lineup, but i will try.

AdamGreenwood Old-Timey Member Posted August 5, 2014 Posted August 5, 2014 I can't stand having this dumb hick on the team. Can't wait until he's gone. Geez, maybe when you resist listening to hitting coaches for six years, and never find any sustained level of success, it's time to re-evaluate who's responsible.

Yup i hope someone claims him on waivers sooner rather then later.

G-Snarls Community Moderator Posted August 5, 2014 Posted August 5, 2014 Adam Greenwood's Blue Jays pick-a-hick contest Pick whoever you think will make the first use of a redneck saying in tonight's game (valid sayings winners - yee haw, ma, pa, ma'am, crawfish, gator, rasslin'). Winner for the season wins a pitcher of sweet tea. http://www.thestar.com/content/dam/thestar/sports/bluejays/2013/08/24/john_gibbons_deserves_another_season_in_jays_dugout_kelly/john_gibbons.jpg.size.xxlarge.promo.jpg http://media.tumblr.com/tumblr_lvn61d55Nl1r0tn2d.jpg http://www2.pictures.zimbio.com/gi/Adam+Lind+Toronto+Blue+Jays+Photo+Day+gdYX2PyhrLil.jpg http://us.cdn281.fansshare.com/photos/r.a.dickey/r.-a.-dickey-shared-photo-1530955692.jpg
G-Snarls Community Moderator Posted August 5, 2014 Posted August 5, 2014 Dickey is not a hick wtf Not as smart as I thought before we got him. From Tenessee. Looks dumb in picture. Close enough. LOL
G-Snarls Community Moderator Posted August 5, 2014 Posted August 5, 2014 Anyone gonna stick up for Lind? No?
o2cui2i Community Moderator Posted August 5, 2014 Posted August 5, 2014 Anyone gonna stick up for Lind? No? Rasmus is socially challenged. He's more comfortable in the middle of nowhere with a fishing pole and a beer. I think he will always struggle with being in the public eye. too many people here dont know the difference between "good ol Boy," "hick" and "redneck" all y'all need to do some learnin and it's called ice tea lol

He also said he wasn't really an outdoors guy until a few years ago. Colby developed a whole new personality post La Russa
KingKat Old-Timey Member Posted August 5, 2014 Posted August 5, 2014 I really have no problem with Tony but I'd rather they didn't put a microphone in front of his face. I'm sure lots of parents have opinions about how their sons have been handled in the game and generally they're not given this platform. Ultimately, I highly doubt it's good for the players to have their parents fighting their battles in the media even if there's merit to some of what their saying. Colby was basically a marked man in St. Louis because in the mind of Larussa, management stole a job from Dave Duncan's kid (Chirs) by making Larusa play Colby. Colby got stuck in a power struggle and I have a lot of sympathy for him because I'm sure it sucked balls to start his career that way but after awhile, hearing dad continue to bring it up as well as other incidents that may have rattled his psyche gets really old and more than likely hurts more than it helps. We're well past the point where Colby should be answering for Colby.
G-Snarls Community Moderator Posted August 5, 2014 Posted August 5, 2014 I really have no problem with Tony but I'd rather they didn't put a microphone in front of his face. Exactly. This should all be behind the scenes without us and the media knowing anything about it.
Candy Maldonado Old-Timey Member Posted August 5, 2014 Posted August 5, 2014 He blabs to the media and then wonders why Colby barely talks to him.
G-Snarls Community Moderator Posted August 5, 2014 Posted August 5, 2014 He blabs to the media and then wonders why Colby barely talks to him. He's the Billy Ray Cyrus of baseball dads
KingKat Old-Timey Member Posted August 5, 2014 Posted August 5, 2014 He blabs to the media and then wonders why Colby barely talks to him. Yeah I mean I'm sure he means well but he's putting Colby in a super awkward spot and Colby already seems pretty awkward without the help.
KingKat Old-Timey Member Posted August 5, 2014 Posted August 5, 2014 Also, anyone else fail to grasp what's so different about what Mottola and Seitzer preach? I mean I'm sure they have different personalities but isn't the ultimate message to use the whole field in both cases?
Dick_Pole Old-Timey Member Posted August 5, 2014 Posted August 5, 2014 He's the Billy Ray Cyrus of baseball dads Tony Rasmus reminds me of Doug Ford. Someone being a mouthpiece and making excuses for/defending a relative in the spotlight. Every man must speak for himself.
