jaysfan2014 Old-Timey Member Posted July 27, 2014 Posted July 27, 2014 lol @ anyone thinking that this isn't a super serious injury. We'll be lucky to have him back by mid-September. I'm not being pessimistic. This is what this organization does. They flat out lie about the severity of almost all of their injuries. Every f***ing season: "Morrow is on the right track, we expect him back soon". Ends up being shut down for season. Culture of deceit. All clubs do this. Ask the Yankees when the heck Pineda and Tanaka will be back.. Pineda was only supposed to be gone for the 10 days he was suspended.. he has instead missed 3-4 months. And I expect Tanaka to have to undergo Tommy John surgery.. they just don't want to say it because the Yanks are basically hanging by a thread in the standings. And I am also getting sick of this negativity on this board.
jaysfan2014 Old-Timey Member Posted July 27, 2014 Posted July 27, 2014 Not getting Headley hurts much more now Eventually Yankees fans will find out WHY the Padres wanted Headley dealt, with his fading power, injury issues and high K rates. And besides, Lawrie will be back by the next home stand, and is expected to play 3B full time. If you want a trade, then we should go after a 2B and maybe another SP.
CJ-Freeway Old-Timey Member Posted July 27, 2014 Posted July 27, 2014 AA is being a dick but like many mentioned on this board, I'm thinking ownership told him that they won't give him another cent to spend on a new player acquired via trade. Which is why he is signing these scrubs. Sigh.
CJ-Freeway Old-Timey Member Posted July 27, 2014 Posted July 27, 2014 Not getting Headley hurts much more now Not worth it... better to look at a decent starting pitcher. AKA what AA should have done this past offseason, but oh well.

Agreed. We need another starter. Remember, Headley was sent to NY for nothing more than a utility infielder and a A+ ball propsect.. there's probably some baggage on Headley we don't know about.

Headley went to NY with baggage, but we all know what it is. He's a FA at season's end and is said to have back issues. Plus he wasn't having a very good season.
