NorthOf49 Old-Timey Member Posted February 12, 2014 Posted February 12, 2014 Looks like Yoon is headed to Baltimore lol. Hopefully this takes them out of the SP market.
NorthOf49 Old-Timey Member Posted February 12, 2014 Posted February 12, 2014 Perfect. Yes, if you believe the "Alex is a genius for waiting out the market" narrative. In that case, Yoon to BAL, Arroyo to ARI and Maholm to LAD is a perfect sequence of events. There are still two (or three, with Burnett) marquee pitchers out there and now a very limited set of teams. On the other hand perhaps the Orioles was never in the running for one of the top three guys and AA isn't interested in one of those guys anyway. And this merely strengthens a division rival.

And this merely strengthens a division rival. Perhaps. But who am I to form opinions off of possibilities I have no knowledge of? I'm going with the information at my disposal at noting the accuracy (or lack thereof). And I don't know how much it really strengthens Baltimore. He's not exactly a high ceiling guy. Also, that's not even what I was talking about and it was more of me not wanting the Jays to sign him, and nothing about waiting out the market, lol.
Abomination Old-Timey Member Posted February 12, 2014 Posted February 12, 2014 People complain about everything, I bet if they found a cure for cancer you would find people complaining that they didn't do it sooner. Closest post I could find so far to fit this, and it was too good to waste http://www.gocomics.com/nonsequitur/2014/02/11
bigpaulie Verified Member Posted February 12, 2014 Posted February 12, 2014 With the big attendance increases, and tv ratings seen last year, the Jays must see what hype did for the teams pockets last year, why cant they see what the benefit of hype and winning would do. Large fan base, 4th largest market in NA and we have a line up of starters that is rivaled by the lowly Royals. Maybe they have a plan of using 10 starters this year and they plan on filling the rotation with 10 number 5's, that has to be it
