Abomination Old-Timey Member Posted December 27, 2013 Posted December 27, 2013 Is he going to be as good as Darvish? No. So when Darvish is getting around 10 annually I believe, I would not be ponying up 17mil annually to an unproven guy that by all reports will not be at the same level as Darvish. You really have to include the posting fee in Darvish's cost to the Rangers. He would be getting a hell of a lot more if the posting fee was only 20M then.
connorp Old-Timey Member Posted December 27, 2013 Posted December 27, 2013 Well it was very predictable how it turned out.. But it was prob funny at one point because Tanaka wanted Yu money..but GM's were saying "Yu only gets part of that"..and agents are like "so f***ing what, total dollars are the same".
connorp Old-Timey Member Posted December 27, 2013 Posted December 27, 2013 That's what we would all WANT to say as a GM But the market says he will probablyget it. Darvish is seriously underpaid. Free agent crappy number 5 starters are getting paid the same as he is. Mid rotation guys like Ervin Santana and Matt Garza are probably going to get 14-15M. Tanaka is only 25, projects as a 1/2 starter, and is not tied to draft pick compensation. And the posting fee is set at a very reasonable 20M. He'll get what he's asking for. Oh. I didnt see this post. Yes, this is exactly right

I got no doubts that he will get it either. I can see either the M's or Yankees coming way over the top to get him. From what the Yankees have been doing it does not look to me that they are all that concerned about the Cap anymore.

Frenchsoup Verified Member Posted December 27, 2013 Posted December 27, 2013 He's really good but the rest of that bullpen looks pretty questionable. I should have said i see them going out and getting a closer.
Atothe Old-Timey Member Posted December 27, 2013 Posted December 27, 2013 David Robertson is a top-5 reliever in baseball. Thats like saying Jesus is a top 5 deity
Dr. Dinger Old-Timey Member Posted December 27, 2013 Posted December 27, 2013 Jesus was a prophet, not a deity.
Dr. Dinger Old-Timey Member Posted December 27, 2013 Posted December 27, 2013 David Robertson is a top-5 reliever in baseball. I'm going to go ahead and disagree with this thinly-veiled DDL chest pump. Kimbrel, Chapman, Koji, Kenley, Holland are my top 5. Maybe Nathan too, and I'd take Rosenthal over Robertson going forward.
Dr. Dinger Old-Timey Member Posted December 27, 2013 Posted December 27, 2013 Father, son, and holy ghost triumvirate. Jesus is a deity now son. You'd best get on board with the worshipping. Naw, deities are immortal. Jesus got pwned on the cross. And he even carried it himself! LAWL
Dr. Dinger Old-Timey Member Posted December 27, 2013 Posted December 27, 2013 And what the f*** is a holy ghost anyway? I'm pretty sure they just whipped that up to form a neat trinity.
Dr. Dinger Old-Timey Member Posted December 27, 2013 Posted December 27, 2013 Kimbrel is really in a tier of his own. Robertson isn't a LOOGY, but he's a fairly pedestrian reliever vs righties.
Sammy225 Old-Timey Member Posted December 27, 2013 Posted December 27, 2013 And what the f*** is a holy ghost anyway? I'm pretty sure they just whipped that up to form a neat trinity. The holy ghost is basically the arch nemesis of the Flying Spaghetti Monster. Those 2 have been battling for years.
Dr. Dinger Old-Timey Member Posted December 27, 2013 Posted December 27, 2013 I don't think anyone really understands what the f*** is up with that holy trinity f***ery. Pretty sure Jesus came back from the dead. Wait, can you be called immortal if you died and then came back? I'm pretty sure the ONLY qualification for immortal is that you can't die, ever.

Triumvirates are BAD ass, see Beuhrle-Arroyo-Dickey or Caesar, Pompey, Crassus. Trinities suck a lot of dick, see father, son, holy ghost or the broad from the Matrix.
Dr. Dinger Old-Timey Member Posted December 27, 2013 Posted December 27, 2013 Triumvirates historically don't work out, unless we're talking Maddux/Smoltz/Glavine.
connorp Old-Timey Member Posted December 27, 2013 Posted December 27, 2013 I know this board is made up of mostly atheists. Im a agnostic Monotheist myself..dont believe in much of revealed religion.. But do atheits think Jesus actually existed and just wasnt God (like a preacher).. Or just that his life is a fairy tale?
connorp Old-Timey Member Posted December 27, 2013 Posted December 27, 2013 P Triumvirates historically don't work out, unless we're talking Maddux/Smoltz/Glavine. Idk, 3 straight NBA Finals for the Miami Heat using that
Sammy225 Old-Timey Member Posted December 27, 2013 Posted December 27, 2013 P Idk, 3 straight NBA Finals for the Miami Heat using that Bosh does not count I call that a duo lol.
Dr. Dinger Old-Timey Member Posted December 27, 2013 Posted December 27, 2013 I think most people accept that Jesus existed, even atheists. I'm a staunch atheist and the overwhelming evidence convinces me that he was a real historical figure, I just don't find any convincing evidence that he was divine. I reject all religions as equally fraudulant and malignant. Except Buddhists, they seem pretty harmless.
Dr. Dinger Old-Timey Member Posted December 27, 2013 Posted December 27, 2013 P Idk, 3 straight NBA Finals for the Miami Heat using that Like Bosh matters lol.
connorp Old-Timey Member Posted December 27, 2013 Posted December 27, 2013 Yeah Bosh flamed out.. I dont believe the rumors he's gay as hes married with kids and had kid with girl before that.. But maybe hes too nice a guy. Not aggressive enough to wxcel in NbA. Idk..dont watxh much bb
Anemic0ffense Verified Member Posted December 27, 2013 Posted December 27, 2013 Atheists are more preachy than most religious people these days. Annoying as f***.
connorp Old-Timey Member Posted December 27, 2013 Posted December 27, 2013 I watched Bosh on an episode of "Jesse" on the Disney Channel with my son and he came off as a guy thats pillowy soft
Dr. Dinger Old-Timey Member Posted December 27, 2013 Posted December 27, 2013 Atheists are more preachy than most religious people these days. Annoying as f***. That's probably because most religious people can't even make a cogent argument for their beliefs.
Sammy225 Old-Timey Member Posted December 27, 2013 Posted December 27, 2013 Atheists are more preachy than most religious people these days. Annoying as f***. I find this too because they have to make their point lol. I am a Catholic more in sense that I was confirmed 11 years ago and have not been to church in 6 years. But I do consider myself somewhat religious. However out of all the people I have met Atheists seem to be way more concerned about what they believe then religious people. I find it humorous.
Anemic0ffense Verified Member Posted December 27, 2013 Posted December 27, 2013 So you know with 100% certainty what happens when we die? I don't... Nobody does... I don't go to church, and never will, but atheists know jack, just like religious people know jack. That's why it's called "faith". Who gives a s*** what people believe anyway?
connorp Old-Timey Member Posted December 27, 2013 Posted December 27, 2013 To Dinger: So how did the universe come to be. Getting nothing from nothing.. And from then., everything had such a precise order and one law. I mean theres theories out there but i think one should feel secure with their belief in that regard befofe dismissing anything supernatural
LunchBox Verified Member Posted December 27, 2013 Posted December 27, 2013 Atheists are more preachy than most religious people these days. Annoying as f***. Maybe, but I've never had an atheist come to my door with spiel and "literature" that's meant to alter my world view. Also there aren't many places designed for atheists to gather and preach to reinforce their beliefs, besides maybe the science faculties of educational institutions lol
