  1. 1. What do you miss most about Brett Lawrie?

    • The way he waggles his bat like he just chugged 5 Red Bulls
    • Ludicrous base-running decisions
    • Explosive range at third base
    • Walk-off theatrics
    • Death-defying plays around the camera wells
    • The way he looks like he could rip someone's head off after scoring the game tying run
    • Rage-mode on the umpires
    • Putting himself-first approach to the game (i.e. Lind 3rd base)
    • Injury-prone for days!
    • The 2011 version of Brett Lawrie

Do people really think he was mad that he didn't get an rbi on that fly ball with Lind at third?

Only people who like to read too much into things.

Brett Lawrie designate for anal. Wilnercibia to do the deed, good luck sir.

You clearly had unresolved conflicts during your second stage of psychosexual development.

I don't think it's what people believe. But I think it's what people prefer to believe rather than have the knowledge that Lawrie is actually so dumb that he would think a runner scoring in that situation would make any difference. Again to clarify, there are only 2 possibilities:

1) Brett Lawrie is so selfish he wanted Lind to score in that situation so he could have an RBI

2) Brett Lawrie is so dumb he thought a runner scoring from third in the 9th down by more than 1 run would actually make a difference on the outcome of the game

Both of these possibilities are awfully disturbing, hence Lawrie's popularity going down the drain lately.

3rd possibility is he thought it was a one run game, but I think this is unlikely.

Actually that would be the best scenario.... but like you said, unlikely.

He wasn't thinking about the situation, that's all. I see it no differently than attempting to steal 3rd with Bautista at the plate which I think he's done.

Not gonna lose my respect for him over 1 incident albeit a worrisome one.

Remember that one time he tried to steal home with Bautista at the plate? Stupid, jumpy son of a bitch.

It's the other way around, he's NOT thinking about the situation (he's just caught up in the heat of the moment).

Perfectly summarized, thank you

Haha, thanks, trying to sleep early over here.

You had it right

Just not enough emphasis on the fact that he failed in said stupid attempt to steal third

Also trying (and failing) to steal home that time and I think Bautista was at the plate then too? Though if he makes it we probably all kissing his ass.
