Deadpool Old-Timey Member Posted June 10, 2013 Posted June 10, 2013 Thole starting back to back games over JPA... Maybe someone has gotten the message!
Deadpool Old-Timey Member Posted June 10, 2013 Posted June 10, 2013 JPA is not going to like this. Maybe they'll just send him to the batting cage and tell him it's the game, I'm not altogether sure he'd notice the difference.
Abomination Old-Timey Member Posted June 10, 2013 Posted June 10, 2013 JPA is not going to like this. They had to, he was starting to draw the odd walk. Can't have that. In all fairness, he's been overused so far (and I'm not saying that because of his bad hitting or fielding ability). Some time off will do him good hopefully.
Arkadium Verified Member Posted June 10, 2013 Posted June 10, 2013 JPA doesn't catch Dickey, why is this even a topic? Btw, the note on JPA vs. Axelrod is kind of moot point no?
Dylan Old-Timey Member Posted June 10, 2013 Posted June 10, 2013 How come DeRosa doesn't get more playing time?
GD Old-Timey Member Posted June 10, 2013 Posted June 10, 2013 f*** off Rios. Dickey vs. Axelrod? Easy win. See you guys tomorrow for the series win. I assume you mean for the White Sox knowing this team.
GD Old-Timey Member Posted June 10, 2013 Posted June 10, 2013 How come DeRosa doesn't get more playing time? Said no one, ever.
Caper Verified Member Posted June 10, 2013 Posted June 10, 2013 Adam Dunn absolutely sucks... but something tells me he is going to take Dickey... deeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeep.
digiblader Verified Member Posted June 10, 2013 Posted June 10, 2013 Very winnable series. Better we're facing the White Sox than the Cubs..at least the Cubs have SOME talent.. this White Sox team is awful. How awful? Look at these numbers: 26th in AVG (.236) 30th in BBs (148) 30th in 3Bs (3--Jays have 9)--strangely, the Brewers lead with an incredible 24.) 28th in 2Bs (87--Jays are mid-pack at 105) 21st in HRs 27th in hits 29th in RBIs Pitching's not going to save them this time--they're only 11th. And yes, Konerko is cooked--and so is Dunn (.165/.264/.398) with 14 HRs and just 32 RBIs. And Alex Rios is the only real threat--he will get a lot of interest at the trade deadline, as Chicago needs a rebuild badly--unfortunately, one of their assets, Jake Peavy, is on the DL.
Caper Verified Member Posted June 10, 2013 Posted June 10, 2013 Said no one, ever. He's pretty bad on the field... you might be able to play him 2nd base and he'd be ok..... but he's ops'ing .800 right now.... not that bad.
GD Old-Timey Member Posted June 10, 2013 Posted June 10, 2013 DeRosa > Izturis Holy s***, I knew he was bad, but -1.5 fWAR already? Jesus.
digiblader Verified Member Posted June 10, 2013 Posted June 10, 2013 With such a low average, I doubt it--more likely Dunn K's 3 to 4 times. He's been awful this year.

I see what you did there.
Dylan Old-Timey Member Posted June 10, 2013 Posted June 10, 2013 That's pretty bold based on a couple hundred PA. DeRosa's track record suggests he's a POS, and Izturis' suggests he's very useful. Were in 2013, im basing this so far on this season. Izturis has had 56 games to do nothing... If were going off career numbers than Cecil shouldn't even be in the bullpen! lol DeRosa has had a pretty big impact this season considering his playing time, why not try giving him a few more starts? izturis continues to do nothing

Arkadium Verified Member Posted June 10, 2013 Posted June 10, 2013 Its weird/sad the Konerko finally looks done. You may be right, although the old guys tend to be notorious slow starters
Arkadium Verified Member Posted June 10, 2013 Posted June 10, 2013 Something is kinda f***ing wrong with him this year, though. Izzy has been extremely unlucky, he's hitting the ball everywhere and it's getting caught. His BABIP is awful, he almost never strikes out (top 5 lowest SO% in AL)
Dylan Old-Timey Member Posted June 10, 2013 Posted June 10, 2013 I'm still pretty comfortable projecting Maicer Izturis to outperform DeRosa going forward. Going forward I agree. The fact this decision is actually a vital part of this "contending' season is sad
fatcowxlive Old-Timey Member Posted June 10, 2013 Author Posted June 10, 2013 I'm still pretty comfortable projecting Maicer Izturis to outperform DeRosa going forward. But is he outperforming him now? We need people who are going to contribute well everyday, and if DeRosa's good now, we should ride him until he slows down

We need people who are going to contribute well everyday, and if DeRosa's good now, we should ride him until he slows down There is a case to be made with DeRosa because of the fact that he says his elbow is 100% now, where supposedly it was nagging him the last few years and taking away his power.

havok24 Old-Timey Member Posted June 10, 2013 Posted June 10, 2013 I think we lose this game. I'm pretty sure we are ranked 30th as a team in TWTW.
