Self-harming politeness from the organisation. Although he should be commended for his emergency starts, everybody knew that Ortiz was a timebomb ... probably even Ortiz himself. Jenkins may not be the sharpest stud, but at least he could have some kind of future up top.
GD Old-Timey Member Posted May 22, 2013 Posted May 22, 2013 Oh my God, can we actually not rush a f***ing prospect for once? Meh, I guess he did pitch at AA last year, but another 9-10 starts would do him much better than an MLB start.

What kind of idiots are running this show? you know AA wants to squeeze the last toothpaste out of the tube before he throws it away. negative value is still value. lol
GD Old-Timey Member Posted May 22, 2013 Posted May 22, 2013 And here's a good writeup. http://www.fangraphs.com/blogs/sean-nolin-next-blue-jays-savior/ I posted that a few days ago. How would this hurt his development? It wouldn't, I'm saying it would be more beneficially than starting him now. Wouldn't hurt, but the alternative would help.

By landing in a more favorable position, he could potentially snag or knock down a lot more ground balls." good thing we have a strong middle infield... hope he does well, but they better not burn him out.
eastcoastjaysfan Old-Timey Member Posted May 22, 2013 Posted May 22, 2013 Give him a shot and see what happens.
HERPDERP Old-Timey Member Posted May 22, 2013 Posted May 22, 2013 Give him a shot and see what happens. but then if he fails people here will bitch and complain that 'AA rushed Nolin'
sheyworth Verified Member Posted May 23, 2013 Posted May 23, 2013 I myself too, am thoroughly confused at it. Jenkins is already up, and hasn't pitched in a dog's age at this point. He had success against Boston (albeit a struggling Boston versus the one earlier in the season), and yet he's being moved back to 15 days rest. Should have thrown Ortiz under the bus the last two starts and kept Jenkins going while his location was sharp.

Surely based on how he was pitching and given his MLB experience you give the ball to Ortiz?
