pure gut feel on how Loup was pitching is my guess. Everything was up over the middle

 

Plus lefty or not, he's been hitting. Remember, our first 3 starters were lefties and he was still getting on

obviously not, but you dont go in with the mindset your pitcher will definitely give up a run. You dont use your closer as the away team before you need to, regardless of the situation

 

I'm in the camp where I want my best pitchers to pitch in high leverage situations as they arise. Give me the best chance to win now, worry about the rest later.
