Arkadium Verified Member Posted May 8, 2013 Posted May 8, 2013 What about Laffey? I'd prefer him over Gonza
GD Old-Timey Member Posted May 8, 2013 Posted May 8, 2013 No,not at all. I'm just saying it's highly probable that Cecil could start and give us 3-4 decent innings. Carreno could be used as a bridge to the latter innings without taxing our pen. Carreno is better than a gas can, that i totally agree with. He's had a taste in the bigs before,so the transition shouldn't be dramatic. I guess, I'd just like to move him up to AAA first.
GD Old-Timey Member Posted May 8, 2013 Posted May 8, 2013 What about Laffey? I'd prefer him over Gonza He got released, like, two/three weeks ago, and signed with the Dodgers.
GD Old-Timey Member Posted May 8, 2013 Posted May 8, 2013 Was thinking about Ellsbury and Ortiz, would make sense to guarantee Cecil faces them. It wouldn't happen, but wouldn't it be fun if Lincoln played 1B and he and Cecil subbed in and out of pitcher/1B depending on the matchup? Teams should teach their pitchers to play first base so they can maximize the platoon advantage. Hahaha, that would be awesome. I really like that idea.
Everett Verified Member Posted May 8, 2013 Posted May 8, 2013 Huh, yeah, I like this idea, although I'd probably start Lincoln over Cecil. Remember that epic 3 inning Loup save? I bet he could give us 3-4 innings. Did anyone else notice the similarity between Aaron Loup and Rube Baker from Major League 2? http://mlblogsbenross.files.wordpress.com/2011/04/rube20baker.jpg?w=95&h=134 http://blu.stb.s-msn.com/i/4E/42EABF5B53489F1D3B2B90C77DB.jpg

Surely most of these guys have played some kind of position before. If their athletic enough it makes perfect sense. Anyone with more baseball knowledge know if this is legal?
GD Old-Timey Member Posted May 8, 2013 Posted May 8, 2013 Did anyone else notice the similarity between Aaron Loup and Rube Baker from Major League 2? .. Oh my God, that's hilarious. Awesome.
kgm1 Verified Member Posted May 8, 2013 Posted May 8, 2013 Naturally they call up a fresh BP arm till they need a starter . Problem is a 40 man roster spot. If I were AA I would DFA Blanco , call p Thole and free a sot on the roster then call up Careno
G-Snarls Community Moderator Posted May 8, 2013 Posted May 8, 2013 He got released, like, two/three weeks ago, and signed with the Dodgers. And was PISSED at the Jays

digiblader Verified Member Posted May 8, 2013 Posted May 8, 2013 Likely options for a call-up: Claudio Vargas (3-1, 3.10 ERA) Ryan Tepera (4-1, 2.78 ERA, 1.08 WHIP)--this is the most likely call-up. Chad Jenkins Sean Nolin(not yet--not stretched out enough) Of course, AA may go out and add someone before Sunday.

GD Old-Timey Member Posted May 8, 2013 Posted May 8, 2013 Not sure bro.....but I'd guess about that or more, the knee sprain scares me the most. Either way, not good at all.
wilko Old-Timey Member Posted May 8, 2013 Posted May 8, 2013 Gonzalez just saved the Jays. Romero is terrible.
Arjun Nimmala Vancouver Canadians - A+ SS It's been slow going at the start of the season for Nimmala, but on Sunday, he was 3-for-5 with his 3rd home run and 3 RBI. Explore Arjun Nimmala News >
