eastcoastjaysfan Old-Timey Member Posted May 8, 2013 Posted May 8, 2013 Adam Greenwood is basically the Casey Janssen of the forum. Not flashy, doesn't stand out too much, but each post gets the job done in a respectable, workmanlike manner.
GD Old-Timey Member Posted May 8, 2013 Posted May 8, 2013 Yes they did.Once again Adam Greenwood is dropping truth bombs. Some were even calling for Delabar to be the closer this year because of the K numbers. Casey is our best reliever by a mile. I'm not sure if you're being serious or not lol. I know what you're referring to, some fan of another team came in asking about Delabar and some people screwed with him claiming he could close.
Captain Adama Old-Timey Member Posted May 8, 2013 Posted May 8, 2013 With the volatility of closers it's tough to say, but I'd go with yes, right now he's shown to be at least in the top 5 argument. Nice thread. I hate to talk about this kinda thing but that feeling you get that it's over when a guy steps into the 9th inning. I've been getting that with Casey for the past year now, especially since the start of this year. It's not a matter of if he closes out the game, it's how.
eastcoastjaysfan Old-Timey Member Posted May 8, 2013 Posted May 8, 2013 Hey East! Sorry about last night, I was out of line I apologize. Just heated because of the injury my bad. No problem bud. Not the first time we've gotten into a dust up.. and I'm sure it won't be the last! lol
0ctobyte Verified Member Posted May 8, 2013 Posted May 8, 2013 Janssen is f***ing nails, he's top 3 this year for sure.
GD Old-Timey Member Posted May 8, 2013 Posted May 8, 2013 Closer FIP leaders: Grilli 0.78 Janssen 0.83 Henderson 1.43 Holland 1.58 Romo 1.72 You still have to put Kimbrel and Chapman 1 and 2 though. I'd say: Kimbrel Chapman Romo Janssen Grilli Agreed. I don't think Mo's top 5 anymore, and I think there's a distinct drop off after Chapman.
eastcoastjaysfan Old-Timey Member Posted May 8, 2013 Posted May 8, 2013 Damn! And we almost had Grilli too... I think...
GD Old-Timey Member Posted May 8, 2013 Posted May 8, 2013 Damn! And we almost had Grilli too... I think... We did, we definitely went after him hard, can't fault AA for that. He just chose Pittsburgh over us, which I can't really blame him for - promised closers' role, great city, great fans.

GD Old-Timey Member Posted May 8, 2013 Posted May 8, 2013 Pittsburgh being a "great city" is a bit of a stretch. I realized that'd probably be disputed lol. I dunno, I drove up there with my dad last year and I absolutely loved it, PNC's great, the city is very nice.

PNC Park is the only MLB stadium I've been to other than RC, I can never enjoy the RC again. The sightlines in and around the park are awesome.
