ScottGer76 Verified Member Posted May 7, 2013 Posted May 7, 2013 This was always going to be a risk with this guy. What is the end play with Johnson? Is he going to be a one year rental or do we leverage his current situation into a low salary high bonus contract offer?

If some team commits 5+ years to this guy it's going to end up being a disaster.
Metallijay Verified Member Posted May 7, 2013 Posted May 7, 2013 Sigh, this team cannot have 1 season with a pitcher injury? JJ can be the best on this staff and one of the best in baseball, we need him to get on track if there is any chance of a turn around. The pitching continues to be a major worry.

I figure he won't accept a 3 year deal from us with 2 more options? He has really underwhelmed this year. The Marlins trade isn't looking great so far. Once Reyes comes back it will make me feel a whole lot better.
Metallijay Verified Member Posted May 7, 2013 Posted May 7, 2013 It's depressing how almost all of our new players have underwhelmed, except reyes and he got injured, just our luck
declan_44 Verified Member Posted May 7, 2013 Posted May 7, 2013 Like McGowan could be ready to be in the pen on opening day? Lol. And speaking of McGowan, it's so fishy that he's on the 60-day DL being that he's at Extended Spring Training throwing 96 mph heat. Don't fall over from shock when he's a starter again when he begins his rehab assignment in about 10 days. And if it isn't in about 10 days, that's super fishy! He'll be a starter for one game and kablooieee, back on the DL (Hopefully with an extension in hand...)
