digiblader Verified Member Posted August 21, 2013 Posted August 21, 2013 With the Mets injuries, he may be up as soon as September.. Matt Harvey and Zack Wheeler will be shut down soon.
GD Old-Timey Member Posted August 22, 2013 Author Posted August 22, 2013 Dunno where else to put this, but Travis Snider is currently worth -0.6 fWAR and less valuable than J.P. Arencibia. That's actually a bit sad
z3r0s Old-Timey Member Posted August 22, 2013 Posted August 22, 2013 welcome back dude Such and un-Raylike move
GD Old-Timey Member Posted August 22, 2013 Author Posted August 22, 2013 You just know he's gonna put up like 6 WAR next year, because Rays
G-Snarls Community Moderator Posted August 22, 2013 Posted August 22, 2013 Rays claim David DeJesus off waivers. They're busy!!
G-Snarls Community Moderator Posted August 22, 2013 Posted August 22, 2013 When is deadline for players to be post season eligible for their new teams if traded??
GD Old-Timey Member Posted August 22, 2013 Author Posted August 22, 2013 When is deadline for players to be post season eligible for their new teams if traded?? I believe August 31st.
Orgfiller Old-Timey Member Posted August 23, 2013 Posted August 23, 2013 throwing money at rubbish (see the Angels with Pujols I've been trying to catch up on the last ten pages, and his comments about everything else are insulting (IQ drop-inducing) to those with eyes and more than one brain cell, but for some reason I found calling a future first-ballot HOF (obviously ruling out any positive steroid tests that may be found) "rubbish" quite comical, I'll stick with it for my quote of the night.
digiblader Verified Member Posted August 23, 2013 Posted August 23, 2013 That Travis Snider looks bad on both sides..
digiblader Verified Member Posted August 23, 2013 Posted August 23, 2013 Delmon Young is a free agent--he's not returning to Tampa Bay after the season. He was only signed to find a fill-in DH for Luke Scott, who's on the DL.
digiblader Verified Member Posted August 23, 2013 Posted August 23, 2013 Kurt Suzuki goes back home--A's have reacquired him for a pitching prospect.
GD Old-Timey Member Posted August 23, 2013 Author Posted August 23, 2013 Rays acquire David DeJesus according to Marc Topkin
G-Snarls Community Moderator Posted August 23, 2013 Posted August 23, 2013 Oakland acquires Kurt Suzuki Sounds like a good move. I guess they've been having catcher problems.
digiblader Verified Member Posted August 23, 2013 Posted August 23, 2013 A lot of catcher problems--Jaso(concussion), Norris(foot) and Montz are hurt.
digiblader Verified Member Posted August 23, 2013 Posted August 23, 2013 Wonder what Farrell would have to say about the Yanks farm? http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/mlb/news/20130823/yankees-farm-system-joe-kelly-cubs-stats/ Yankees are even thinner than the Jays--none of their bats are developing, and they're thin in young pitching as well.
digiblader Verified Member Posted August 24, 2013 Posted August 24, 2013 And the Royals are rapidly falling out of the playoff race..
digiblader Verified Member Posted August 24, 2013 Posted August 24, 2013 Bud Norris is getting lit up early vs. the A's.. bad sign for the O's, who need this series to keep playoff hopes alive.
Convo Verified Member Posted August 24, 2013 Posted August 24, 2013 Boni has 0.4 WAR as a Royal already. 6 SB in 29 PA with KC, 12 SB in 282 PA with BJs... WTH
digiblader Verified Member Posted August 24, 2013 Posted August 24, 2013 All that hype about the Yankees should die now once the Rays take care of them.. the Yankees aren't that great of a team--they've had the benefit of playing bad opponents like the Jays and an overrated Red Sox team that is due for regression.

I'm not sure but I think the Yankees would be below .500 if they never played the Blue Jays?
digiblader Verified Member Posted August 24, 2013 Posted August 24, 2013 Pretty much.. Tampa, Oakland, Texas, Detroit and Cleveland are better teams than the Yankees.
digiblader Verified Member Posted August 24, 2013 Posted August 24, 2013 What a mess in L.A. (Anaheim): http://www.cbssports.com/mlb/writer/scott-miller/23286878/broken-angels-tense-atmosphere-nearly-included-pujols-hunter-fight-in-2012 Looks like it won't be getting better in the Angels org. anytime soon--they're a worse organization than the Jays, with little hope of a Red Sox style recovery. One interesting quote regarding Angels ownership: “Arte needs to stay out of the baseball business,” one baseball person says. “Arte thinks he knows the game. He doesn't know the game. He only knows the money, the business side. And you thought Rogers was bad...
BlueJayWay Verified Member Posted August 24, 2013 Posted August 24, 2013 Bud Norris is getting lit up early vs. the A's.. bad sign for the O's, who need this series to keep playoff hopes alive. Baltimore scores 6 in the inning, leading 6-3
BlueJayWay Verified Member Posted August 24, 2013 Posted August 24, 2013 I'm not sure but I think the Yankees would be below .500 if they never played the Blue Jays? Outside of their record against Toronto, they're 56-58 with a run differential I think in the -20s
digiblader Verified Member Posted August 24, 2013 Posted August 24, 2013 Yes--the Yankees are in reality a bad team that has only benefited from our futility. I mean, the Yanks didn't really deserve to win most of the recent games against us.. but bullpen struggles and Bautista's injury gave the Yanks an advantage.
BlueJayWay Verified Member Posted August 24, 2013 Posted August 24, 2013 Now that they have Arod and Granderson and Soriano I don't know if they're bad. But they're not particularly good (especially if Kuroda's hitting a wall).
digiblader Verified Member Posted August 24, 2013 Posted August 24, 2013 And Baltimore just coughed up the lead.. it's 7-6 now.
digiblader Verified Member Posted August 24, 2013 Posted August 24, 2013 And Sabathia and Hughes are awful as well..
