  1. Good point, but we've seen him have similar stretches in the regular season too.
  2. I think Vladdy is one of those infuriating players who oozes talent, but flatters to deceive. You know he can turn it on, he has turned it on, but he doesn't do it consistently. The maddening thing about it is there is no amount of coaching or pep talking that will help - if he decides he wants to do it, he'll do it, as we saw in the post season and we have seen in during his white hot streaks. Is it a mental thing with him where he doesn't want the pressure of having to deliver consistently? Or has the way the club has spoiled him and given him preferential treatment over the years created a certain mindset with him? Who knows?
  3. Wishful thinking. If you want somebody to chase a slider off the plate, and ground out, he's your man.
  4. Why keep Lauer? How does Lauer help us win ball games at this point? He can pitch BP to Vladdy at the All-Star game.
  5. The Intercounty League is no longer a thing. It is now called the Canadian Baseball league.
  6. Soriano sitting in a hot tub smoking a cigar against this pathetic offence.
  7. No guarantee with JS as manager. Any other contending club would have shipped him to the minors a long time ago, but we have culture, right?
  8. Kurt Suzuki must have been saying: "At some point, JS will be dumb enough to put Lauer into this game. Patience my friends, patience!'
  9. The Intercounty League game is much more entertaining.
  10. Meanwhile, the Toronto Maple Leafs are playing Kitchener at Christie Pits in the Intercounty League. The game is on Youtube. I did not know that that is still a thing. Imagine, outdoor baseball in May in Toronto.
  11. Eric lauer - taxi to Buffalo! Another example of JS doubling down on a rubbish pitcher.
  12. The other issue is if you keep Pinango, you have a glut of lefty outfielders, which creates matchup issues. But they are going to have the same problem when Lukes comes back. Of course, it's a nice problem to have if everyone is hitting well. You would rather have to choose between hot hitters than cold.
  13. Cease is mustard. BP slams the door, nice job by Hoffman to pitch around the leadoff double. Offence still sucks: 7 hits in the last 17 innings and 20 scoreless innings in the last 21. The 28th ranked bullpen held us to 1 hit over 4.1 innings. Dreadful.
  14. Just trying to help folks like you figure it all out.
  15. Funny how Ken Rosenthal was skeptical about Bieber's health after he re-signed with the Jays, and how quickly he was demonized by the Happy Clappers. Turns out old Ken knows a thing or two about baseball. Trust the bow tie, my friends.
  16. But you've also gained quality posters like myself who provide some much-needed balance and insight. You're welcome.
  17. Some of the worst advice I ever received came from myself.
  18. Everything I posted yesterday about the Red Sox was fact. Your replies were the nonsense part, and when I and others refuted your responses, you went into meltdown. Relax, man, it's just a game. Not every fan is going to be a Happy Clapper. Deal with it.
