Changes To Blue Jays Television & Streaming In 2026
While other teams are gradually having their broadcast rights acquired by MLB Local Media, the Blue Jays’ relationship with Sportsnet remains strong. They’ll continue to offer a direct-to-consumer streaming option through their Sportsnet+ product offering.
What is Sportsnet+?
Sportsnet’s direct-to-consumer product is still the simplest way for in-market fans to stream Blue Jays games during the regular season. At the cost of $29.99 per month or $249.99 for a whole year, you’ll get access to Blue Jays games as well as the MLB Postseason and World Series. It’s important to note that this package is only available to residents of Canada.
This package is also a great deal for fans of other sports. You’ll also get NHL coverage for the Maple Leafs, Oilers, Flames, Canucks, and the Stanley Cup Playoffs. NBA fans also get access to home Raptors games and select regular-season and playoff games.
For out-of-market fans, the standard option is an MLB.TV subscription remains the same. If you’re a first-time subscriber, it’s important to note that MLB.TV will include a free trial of ESPN+ that will automatically renew unless canceled. The subscription is currently priced at $29.99 per month or $149.99 for the whole season.
The Blue Jays’ run to the World Series was a big financial lift for Sportsnet’s parent company, Rogers Communications. Game 7 of the World Series was the most-watched Rogers broadcast of all time, and if the team remains a perennial postseason contender, it’s safe to say its television revenue will remain high.
The Difference Between MLB.TV & Sportsnet+
An MLB.TV subscription will work for anyone outside Sportsnet’s blackout region, which includes anywhere in the United States. Within Canada, Sportsnet+ will suffice for Blue Jays coverage, but there may be gaps in coverage for NHL teams.
Over-The-Air Blue Jays Games
At this time, the Blue Jays have not announced plans to broadcast any games over-the-air.
