    The offense won't continue to be this awful, but I see little reason to believe that it will be good enough to contend. At this point I just want to see a change in the front office so that I can at least buy into the future of this team because the last few years I find the product hard to cheer for.

    It is what is, baseball has turned into a less competitive version of soccer. I totally understand the appeal for many, but I personally loathe sports that have a few teams dominate every major signing.

    Money isn't the primary motivator for Sasaki, playing in the best in the league world is. That doesn't mean money isn't a motivating factor at all, and given that all the teams remaining are in the MLB and presumably provide the intangible things he is looking for it stands to reason that money could be a determining factor.

    I agree, zero reason to make this move without a serious indication from Roki's camp. Moreover, if this is just due diligence why aren't we hearing about the same push from the Dodgers to acquire bonus pool money?

    The Jays are probably getting Sasaki. You wouldn't trade for bonus pool money otherwise. It's not like the Jays are in a time crunch. If Sasaki chose them or anyone he would give them a heads up and time to acquire the money. I don't understand why anyone would preemptively make this move without a heads up.
