    That is guaranteed reason why he signed with us and not dodgers. Dave roberts was always a kook. Probably even left money on the table to not have to deal with that guy. Bragging about hosting him Jesus Christ.

    There has also been talk on Twitter that ohtani named his dog either “rogers” or “blue jay”. All from blue check mark sources. Probably a superstition thing, the other reveal might be that the dog might be somewhat of a mascot I am assuming. Why is he being so secretive about the dog? Hint. The dog is going to run the bases with the jr jay’s at home games and that could be 100m in merch sales over the next decade.

    Yes, I would say it’s 99% we got ohtani. Ross is embarrassed to face the fan base unless he can make a big splash and get Soto or J-rod

    Knowing we will have the top 3 Al mvp vote getters in heart of our lineup is going to make this off season more enjoyable than the actual season. Also with Gerritt cole being 1 year older and body breaking down that much more but gausman gaining 1 year of valuable experience, it’s likely we also have the cy young winner.

    Of course signing Soto would be better than ohtani. But he will want 40m a year also. You will be getting mostly good years though so when we rebuild we will have veteran Soto to whip the kids into shape.

    Age of consent in Canada is 16. In 16 of the states it’s 17 or 18. People always talk about taxes. But for young latinos that could be a selling point for Canada.

    If you’ve done research on clown college, it’s not easy to get in and not everyone gets to be a clown. Check out Steve Os YouTube videos and he goes into detail. It’s a prestigious thing, not like being a Harvard student, but maybe Stanford or MIT would be the equivalent.

    I’m all for keeping Springer if he starts playing well and rolls those pants down. Time to grow up.

    Yea that’s a given. But if we got ohtani and another rental either now or at the deadline. We maybe have 20-30% chance to win a World Series now or next year, at the expense of probably a rebuild while we have Ohtani later years. Or trade him when it doesn’t pan out and hope he kept his value. I don’t think our odds would be much better than 20-30% over 2024-2025.

    You kind of need to get 3-4 good pitching seasons out of him or the contract will be bad. 2025-2027 8 war basically half the value of contract assuming no injuries. Maybe some relief innings in his later years. Too bad steroids are illegal.

    We are screwed if we don’t win in 2024/25 so tiedemann won’t be of any use anyway. Too bad it’s only one year because we will have ohtani for a decade.

    So jays are favourites to land Soto and second in line on tawny. Would honestly be happy with just Soto but now I am kind of expecting both and will be disappointed if we don’t get them.

    I want Ohtani to be here when he gets booed for hitting 650 OPS in his age 36 season. Would be cool to have Mike trout travelling around to see all the games after he retires in a few years.

    From when he first signed, was said he didn’t want to take attention away from Japanese star. Maybe different now. May miss Japanese speaking

    He has said he wanted to be on a team who doesn’t already have Japanese player because he wanted to spread out awareness of the Japanese to many team

    I know the education system hasn’t been great for people of Ohtani age, especially a star athlete he probably didn’t focus on academics. I wonder if he knows the pilots who A-bombed his mother land were Americans. Tibbets is from near Chicago and Sweeney from near Boston.
