Fortunately we are favourites for ohtani. Circumstantial evidence is too big to ignore. If we had to do a trial to decide where he wanted to go, if he said “we will let the trial decide”. The evidence points to jays.

One of his team mates said going back to regular season he said he would go to dodgers or jays if he left angels. So he’s been thinking about the jays for a long time. Is it possible to get into the USA just on having like a half million in cash but no real qualifications? If this ohtani thing doesn’t work out I don’t see any reason to stay here. It’s cold nearly half the year, cost of living is outrageous. High taxes, horrible medical system, no baseball players want to sign here, real estate bubble, no rights.

I forgot ohtani flys home to Japan once a week every off day. Has time to go for sushi at the airport then fly back to LA, or Cleveland if that’s where they are playing.

He is like Bitcoin, he will hold value. He might be worth 50-55m now, in a couple years maybe he’s worth 35m and we take a 150m loss (Roger’s) and send him packing. Don’t think there’s any reason to think he must stay here if our window closes and he’s still doing well

Free agency is so stupid. So much unnecessary hurt feelings of fans. If ohtani goes to the dodgers i wouldn’t be surprised to see him take a few up and inside when the jays play them. Maybe one in back depending who our pitcher is.

Ohtani is not used to the spot light. He took the angels knowing they suck and weren’t the main LA team. I think it comes down to best offer and pretty much everything else is equal. Him being a Japanese boy means he doesn’t have the American raised bias of hating Canada.

I think it’s win win. If we get him, we have him. If we don’t have him, Roger’s saves 580m. Both outcomes will make me just as happy.
