    Vlad at best, can do 30-35 HR and hit for 300+ with 100+RBI. His father was better

    Yes if he want sign elsewhere. But if he have agreement for contract extension with the Jays, it's easier to take risk for the team, when knowing u will sign contract extension here.

    Vlad bad contract no really different than Prince Fielder or Bobby Bonilla after they was overpaid.

    The problem is that if they didn't extended Vlad, fans will have complained we let Vlad and Bo leave without getting anything good in return. And Atkins wasn't able bring good player during last free agency, so he was desperate to make a move to save his job. And overpaying for Vlad, it's normal fans are complaining.

    Bo think about free agency first, and won't take risk with his current injury. It's also a sign he won't sign new contract here, otherwise he will have played as DH.
