Seems like the Jays broke Lauer while letting our bullpen rot simultaneously... I recommend the Jays use a 7 man rotation next year with us skipping our 2 best performers at the time...

When our closer can stop being the runaway leader of such a category then im willing to give him the benefit. Relievers like Hoffman arent meant to be closers because what im outlining is what you do for a normal reliever that you can pull immediately after facing 3 batters if they dont have "it". This team should have been rolling with the "closing by committe" idea because no one's good enough to be THAT guy in our pen.

If you haven't noticed, the Jays have the worst bullpen in baseball in August. We desperately need high leverage arms and having one of our starters is the only method to help at this stage. With all the days off, our starters are good enough to pitch on their regular schedules so not sure what part you find silly...

Feel like the Jays are in a position where they need to punt on the 6 man rotation and use one of their starters as a high leverage reliever. Just grow a pair and make a decision because it'll help us in the playoffs too knowing if any of the starters can be trusted in late innings.

You dont compile a 4.77ERA by limiting damage. When he sucks, he sucks. Its why I mentioned very early in the year that we need to have another pitcher warming up as soon as he comes on. If I can tell when Hoffman is trash then the guys paid millions should be able to pick up on that. Typically pitchers like this arent your closers but we dont have a better option so it is what it is. I was hoping we could find a better than him at the deadline. -

Game was still winnable if our pitching coach and manager were able to assess Hoffman's true abilities more accurately by pulling him when it was obvious he didnt have it.
