  1. No it does not clear anything up at all. For one thing, now the remaining post after you edit doesn't even make sense. Also, who is to say what is political and what is a social issue with a political aspect to it and that also is relevant to baseball. You are walking a line that I doubt will have your stated effect of increasing usership here. But like you said, it's your sandbox, so you make the rules (even though they are murky as hell).
  2. maybe they want him to continuing building up stamina so they can use him as a starter soon.
  3. I don't get how with all the arms on the current expanded 30 man roster, that they didn't have a better option than Gaviglio in that 8th inning. This was a tough loss after such a great outing by Shoemaker and tomorrow's probably starters being Hatch versus Snell.
  4. If the lines are blurry, then you pretty much by definition will be either trying to explain the rules over and over or having a lot of people very confused.
  5. Yeah I wish MLB would have realized the divisiveness they were wading into totally voluntarily when they decided to go full on
  6. Remember when Greinke signed with the Diamondbacks and referred to a former fellow Dodger, who was the worst clubhouse cancer he had experienced in his career (by far)!? Pretty sure (99.9%) that Puig was the guy to which he was referring.... Jays don't need his attitude!!
  7. Naw, this team is pretty good. I bet they go around .500 regardless of where they play the games!
  8. I think they need to put it to the players tonight and get the answer tomorrow morning: if you want to play in a MLB stadium you won't have your own home team facilities (I doubt they can just share that with the team that is the primary occupant). CBA be damned; we are not in normal circumstances! OR you can play in Buffalo or Dunedin, where you will be the home team with your own home clubhouse OR you can play every game on the road (assuming they don't get some pushback on that like what occurred in PA). And again you will be using visitors clubhouse with its lower amenities for the entire 2 months. At least in Buffalo, they can do whatever is possible to add amenities (exercise equipment, etc.) as resources and time allow.
  9. Yeah interesting point. But this is Montreal not an American city and the past is not necessarily a prediction of the future (or however the investment disclaimer goes). I agree with the idea that this fiasco could sour MLB on putting another team in Canada. Also as I mentioned, Rogers loves having all of Canada to themselves, so they may even try to work against any attempts to bring another team to Canada....
  10. I am thinking the same about Vancouver being too close to Seattle. As far as this COVID19 BS being the beginning of the end for the Jays in Canada, I don't think so at all as long as things are back to normal for next season. I highly doubt that will not be the case; otherwise we are going to have a hell of a lot more to worry about than MLB, like a completely melted down economy! No way I can see Rogers wanting to sell the Jays any time soon, as long as they continue to have a 40M viewer TV market all to themselves.
  11. It can't be that bad as is - they can make do for 30 games!!
  12. Sorry to hear of your health problems! Back in about 2005, not long after the original SARS made its appearance in 2002, I had a (now former) coworker who came down with some infectious disease that eventually attacked his heart and led to heart failure, likely similar to what you have experienced. Like in your case, they could not definitively determine what was the actual culprit. He eventually had a heart transplant 2-3 years later. These things where an infectious disease attacks the heart, while rare, have occured for many years and will continue to happen. I know it just sucks to be one of the unlucky ones to whom it affects! I don't see a big deal about where the Jays play 30 'home' games in a contrived 'season'; and I think Buffalo, despite the substandard amenities and lighting, is sufficient for such a small number of games. The weather there in August and September is likely to be much better than Dunedin, so they should just go with it. Latest I saw is the Jays management is now looking for an 11th hour solution to play 'home' games in one or more MLB stadiums mostly at the prodding from their own players: https://sports.yahoo.com/blue-jays-pitcher-says-team-looking-major-league-202745424--mlb.html P.S. now if they don't get things back to relatively normal by next spring, then I will be irate and ready for a revolt!! Like said earlier in this thread, we need to come out of hiding and stop living scared eventually.
  13. The Indians WILL change their name, as will the Redskins. At this point, if you are in prominent in the public eye, you either get on the PC bus or get run over by it.
