  1. Newb to the forum question Would Kevin Pillar be enough to acquire Danny Salazar from the Indians, or are we giving up too much? and would we be a better team if we then went out into the FA Market and signed Cain.
  2. If Martinez makes the HOF, the Mariners will be the only team I have ever seen that had three HOF in their prime and failed to win a WS
  3. http://www.fangraphs.com/statss.aspx?playerid=5279&position=P Fourseam fastball Velocity 2016 = 92.9 2017 = 91.3
  4. His fastball is down to 91. He was a below average pitcher at 93. Now he is down to 91. This is a minor league spring training invite at best. I would reckon he should take that with the Orioles where he has a far better chance of making the rotation
  5. List the factors based on why he is a good bounce back candidate
  6. I think most people would want them to do better here than Tillman for the 5th spot. I have little faith in his ability to bounce back
  7. You could make the argument that the Redsox would be worst off with JD Martinez, the could simply hold on the cash, get behind the luxury tax, than get Machado next year with Pedroia close to the end. Move Bogaerts to 2nd, and have an infinitely better team. I would pick the Redsox over the Yankees for the ALEast this year even if they do nothing. Hanley is coming off the books as well, Redsox don't have to do anything, the rest of the American league is sinking really fast. Rays and Orioles maybe 90 loss teams, at the worst they are guaranteed a wild card game with Chris Sale pitching.
  8. Cant see him turning down the only team willing to pay him big $$, considering this is probably the biggest contract of his life. I think he has no problems playing DH, more like he was promised a ridicolous amount of money by his agent, and Boston values him at $125M, which means he would have to be a .900 OPS guy for the next 5 years to give them any value. I think some of the calls for the Redsox not having a big power hitter are ridicolous. They won the ALEast for a second consecutive year, and the playoffs are a crapshoot anyways.
  9. I know Tellez had a bad year, but his mom was sick. Before last year he was projecting quite high If I remember. I just dont understand how his stock could have fallen where he isn't even a top 500 prospects.
  10. Where is Rowdy Tellez?
  11. [–]allirowWill kitchen aid endorse my new liver? 31 points 3 hours ago What a story Mark! So how's your sex life? permalinkembedsavereportreply [–]MarkShapiroHDMH 39 points 3 hours ago Really depends on Ross’ mood... BAHAHAHAHA I laughed out Loud.
  12. I'm surprised we couldn't get more for Leone considering he was worth 1.5 WAR last year, and reliever value is through the roof.
  13. I dont know how to feel about this, Reddit hasn't told me yet.
  14. Braves reddit shows a lot of Braves fans comparing Acuna to Trout.
  15. There was a post on Reddit from an intern who worked in the Bluejays front office in the Finance Division helping with Revenue Reconciliation. It is a very interesting read. Particularly the poster posted very confidential information: * The break even for the Bluejays is about $250M in cost. * Rogers expects Bluejays to break even without internally allocating any TV Broadcasting revenue. Thought people here would be interested in reading some leaked high level Jays finance information.
  16. Sox with a very fair 100M/5 year offer for JD Martinez.
  17. Ultimately any success next season depends on a Sanchez comeback and strong years from the rest of the starting pitchers. Understanding this Atkins has done an amazing job raising the floor of the position players so that if our starting pitching is successful than we will have a shot at a wild card spot. Really from this roster these are all good moves.
  18. The signing raised our projections by 1 Win. We are now projected to win 84 games We should aim to get to 86 Wins and then just roll the dice on what will be an interesting season
  19. Huntington's on Full Tilt.
  20. Solid get for the Nationals, Kendrick 2/7 Lower than projected, might be signs that some guys are starting to crumble. The top end free Agents they can hold out, but the medium and lower tier will start to get a little worried.
  21. You think they would do it for Dominic Leone?
  22. If we could pull off 1 or 2 sexy moves like Solarte and Diaz, i'd be happy. We needed to raise the floor and we have done that in the infield. I am hoping that Jansen is the Backup/Part time catcher we need. What we really need is a decent backend starter and an outfielder. I feel like 15-20 Mil should be enough to get these things. I like the idea of a Jason Vargas and Jarrod Dyson. Let Alford and Teoscar compete for the last outfield spot.
  23. Last piece is AA Outfielder Jason Martin. Their 13th best prospect
  24. That has to be more to come. I'd be pretty pissed off if I was a Pirates fan.
  25. The Reed signing tells me that players might be starting to come down on terms.
