  1. I'm really scared that Gift Ngoepe is going to get way too much playing time. Gibbons keeps saying the same things about him that he used to say about Goins.
  2. I'm pretty much assuming Tulo is done being a contributor at this point. If he is the only injury and Travis Sanchez and others are healthy it's okay.
  3. There is virtually no reason for him to throw side arm. None. Just his stupidity
  4. I am glad Jansen is getting the Reps, I really want to see the Jays run with him at the backup position. Even give him ~60 starts. He was 0 for 2 today, but honestly his bat will come around. I just can't deal with seeing a negative WRC guy getting at bats.
  5. Well on the plus side, I would assume this would result in someone else doing the After game call-ins.
  6. That would be disappointing if true, I honestly have no desire to hear Wilner on a daily basis.
  7. What happened to Gameday.
  8. I really like this a 100 times better than Axford or Breslow.
  9. Everything looks great in Spring
  10. It's Early.
  11. There is a risk that, based on body type, (Pablo, Prince) Vladdy's first 6-7 years in the majors will be his best. Not that this isn't always the case, but he might reach his prime by 22, and be out of it by 26-27
  12. Did the make an announcement on the play by play team on the Radio
  13. Every year there are a few standouts that make the team, I am really hoping that Danny Jansen plays so well in Spring, it makes it impossible for them to not bring him North. We know he will be here in 2018, but it would be awesome if he has a dream spring. On a similar note, I think guys that do really well in Spring should get a chance to make the big club, that is one area where we saw some real successes with AA, I remember when he brought Osuna north there were so many sceptics.
  14. It will be Wilner, with Bob McCown as the third man in the booth.
  15. I wonder if other outfielders who are trying to revive their value on one year deals avoid Toronto because of the turf.
  16. That would be extremely exciting.
  17. Yes it is, they have done a great job raising the floor with middle infield, starting pitching and the outfield all improved. The only remaining area where I thought that there would be an improvement is backup catcher, but maybe they like Jansen to surprise in spring training.
  18. Who will be worth more wins in the next two years, Dyson or Martinez? Its closer than we realize.
  19. With Zips incorporated, Fangraphs now has the Jays projected for 86 Wins, but they have Travis and Tulo projected for 4.1 wins. Diaz and Solarte are projected to be worth 1 win in Total. So the keys to the Jays success really is Solarte and Diaz having good seasons making up for the lost at bats for Travis and Tulo. Its hard to see where other wins come from. Donaldson is already projected to be worth 6 wins, and the starting rotation is projected to be 13.7 wins. The only place to look at are the corner outfields, which are projected to be about a win and a half each. So in order for the Jays to surprise and be in a WC position, they would need: Middle infield to provide about 5 wins with a combination of Tulo, Travis, Solarte and Diaz, Surprises from the corner outfield positions from the young group of Alford, Hernandez, Pompey, etc. If those two things happen, Jays will compete for a WC spot. If they dont, this is a 77-81 win team. Lots of areas where things can go wrong, including Starting Rotation and Catcher position.
  20. https://bluejaysnation.com/2018/02/13/atkins-speaks-at-pitch-talks-on-donaldson-vlad-culture-stats-layoffs-and-more/ "We come up with a number, and that number is X. Danny Lozano, his agent, I’m sure would find out if I told you guys what that number was, but we do have that number — we have come up with a clear walk-away that we would be willing to commit to him for him to remain a Blue Jay probably for the rest of his career."
  21. Two official statements from Atkins ring through 1. Donaldson's agent know the number 2. Such a contract would ensure that Donaldson would remain a Blue Jay for the rest of his career Based on that I have to be believe a 5 year offer was made. If it wasn't I think the fan base should be extremely dissapointed. I don't care that they don't want to give Donaldson what is needed to extend him. I've bought in However has someone who has bought in to the Atkins plans I would be extremely angry if the above statements we're not true. Should it come out that Donaldson was only offered a 3-4 year deal then it would mean that the front office is not to be trusted. What I worry about is that through this process of not signing the stars, the attendance and tv numbers will be affected leading to a lower tv number down the road. That would worry me. If the revenues for the team contract payroll will follow. Again it is a lot of speculation, I've bought in to the regime. However I think if the front office is not going to resign the best player on the team the fans have a right to know where the two sides didn't match.
  22. Padres Reddit is pretty happy. The deal will help them win the WS in 2020 Lol
  23. You'd have to eat the entire 24 Million
  24. Yankees and Redsox will win 16 games each against the Rays this year
