  1. There days it wouldn't be hard to find someone willing to hand him $10 million just to see if he's got something left. Worse players are paid more.   2. There's a lack of appreciation in the guy's appreciation thread. I'll tell you this; not many players have improved themselves as much as Bautista did in mid career. A lot of players, never given a fair shot and shuffled from one organization to another, might have given up, either completely or just in effort. He kept working hard, and when opportunity arrived, he became a star. Bautista for (the catcher they traded from him; name escapes me) is a legendarily wonderful trade. What a player, what moments.
