  1. The heart of Bisons' lineup is fully of some interesting players! 2. McKinney 3. Guerrero 4. Jansen 5. Pompey 6. Tellez 7. Alford
  2. Mid Game Updates: Reid-Foley: 4IP 4H 1BB 7K Vlad: 2-2 Bo: 2-3
  3. Just noticed that Groshans hasn't played since 7/31. Any word on whats going on with him?
  4. I'd like to see Tellez up here. He projects to be almost a league average bat right now.
  5. Hector Perez starting in NH tonight. Vlad 2-2 2 BB in the second Buffalo game today!
  6. My initial thoughts are that these prospects are like a SRF and Miguel Castro pre-Tulo trade?
  7. High School happened
  8. Also Bo: "I think maybe I gave pitchers too much credit, thinking they'd exploit [my athleticism in the box]," he said. "People tell me all the time my swing's too noisy and stuff. I think just a combination of everything kind of made me feel like I needed to quiet things down. Recently, I just kind of realized that's what made me special. I do things a little bit differently. About three games ago, I decided to start going back to my old self and just kind of having fun up there and swinging as hard as I can. It's pretty immediately made some impact." https://www.milb.com/milb/news/toronto-blue-jays-prospect-bo-bichette-ties-career-high-with-five-rbis/c-287822652?tcid=tw_article_287822652,tw_article_287822652
  9. Bo homer: http://clips.milb.com/milb/2018/07/29/44-538818-2018-07-28/web_cut/milb_2322308183_1000K.mp4 On 1-2 count, you can see he still gets big power even without the big leg kick.
  10. Why are people so high on Drury and simultaneously down on McKinney? The have basically the same offensive projections, except McKinney is 2 years younger and hasn't had 1100 PA of below average batting at the MLB level. I'm not gonna pretend to know anything about McKinney's defense, but Drury has set quite a low bar. I guess my question is why are many on this board optimistic about a breakout for Drury to be an average player, but are also writing off Mckinney as no more than a 4th OF or so.
  11. Bo 3-5: 2 2B, HR, 5RBI. Must be jealous of Vlad's promotion
  12. Hahaha the FisherCats twitter put together a video montage tribute to Vlad!
  13. Bo interview at Futures Game
  14. No, but I hoped for multiple young prospects who had the (small) potential to be a building block type of player.
  15. Gonna go on the record saying Drury sucks and this trade sucks. I'll make this post easy to find incase he becomes the next Donaldson. McKinney is nice though.
  16. He has .8 WAR in over 300 games. So above replacement level, technically yes, but basically no. He more or less has been and currently projects to be replacement level. While this is true, something similar could be said for "low level lotto ticket prospect ranked 10-20" in the Yanks system, but with a higher ceiling. Im frustrated that our FO didn't try to expand the risk-reward range of outcomes considering the current state of the franchise. This is a good "depth move" that we have been wishing for for the last few years, but we actually have that depth now already.
  17. This is the only angle I would understand. None of the public data suggests to me that Drury should be expected to suddenly be an average or slightly above player. If our FO has reason to believe he will, then obviously its a good move.
  18. Obviously we were trading Happ. McKinney is a solid piece, Drury probably sucks though. Would have MUCH preferred some low level high upside guys.
  19. I just don't understand why we would not be looking for a high upside return with a rebuild looming. What benefit does cheap control over Drury provide the team that Solarte, Travis, Diaz, LGJ and Biggio don't?
  20. His replacement level projections. And replacement level results.
  21. I know advanced defensive stats kinda suck, but he has a negative UZR/150 at every position he's played. I believe he could have 1-2 average seasons with some BABIP luck and a few more homers, but I really hate targeting a replacement level player in a trade whose range of outcomes barely moves the needle for the team. Especially when we have depth at the position already.
  22. Exactly. The "value" of this return lies in a replacement level guy having a sudden breakout at age 26, and becoming an average player. Its not like we desperately need more IF depth.
