  1. God Shapiro, sign a minor leaguer, trade a low A non prospect or Anything so we don't have to read 4 f***ing pages of opinions on who is the hottest Players
  2. According to MLBTR it is Adam warren and a PTBNL
  3. i really don't expect JB and EE to sign that cheap. Closer to 4/80 than 4/56 Edit unless they have a bad season which i don't expect.
  4. Never mentioned their revenue. Just what the cost would be in Canadian dollars.
  5. If the Canadian dollar stays the same that contract is 288 million.
  6. Anyone see a decent bull pen arm target we could grab in the rule 5 draft.
  7. i took heat suggesting we may have to non tender Revere if we couldn't trade him. One guy put me on ignore. LOL That of course was before we filled our rotation with 4s and 5s. Now that we are planning to win by scoring 6 runs a game I think we need to keep Revere. Saunders and Thole are obvious
  8. Any 10 year deal even for a young guy like Heyward is insanely stupid. Pujols, and Cano are just the latest.
  9. There was no Meh option so i had to take the NO route. IF Searage really did something and he is the best pitching coach in baseball so this may turn out better than I think. I know we have the best lineup in baseball but you need pitching in the playoffs and after Stroman it is a gamble. Loved the Tigers deal with Zimmerman and wish we had done that deal instead.
  10. Everything you say is true and if the Canadian dollar was even 90 cents i would agree Rogers would spend but 140 mil US is somewhere around 180 mil. So spending 140 mil is very fair.
  11. Think it around 16.2 left assuming the 140 number. That reply was to someone who wanted Hutch, Osuna and Sanchez in AAA. We have far and above the best lineup in baseball but as Shapiro points out our depth is very lean . I actually think positional depth isn't bad but the pitching depth is very barren. I want/covet a # 2 starter to fill out the rotation which would eat up the 16.2 left and more. Then I would like an arm or two for the bull pen. That obviously will be darn hard to do. AA did his job as instructed by his boss, get the team to the playoffs. The cost however was most of our minor league pitching depth. If Shapiro can work some magic and get us a good pitching staff I'll tip my cap but he isn't some miracle worker sent down from the heavens. While I agree he was better than the others it isn't like we just got Friedman or Epstein
  12. I would love to see Osuna and Sanchez in AAA starting but that pen is ugly. Still it is much easier to get lucky with pen arms than starters. Fill Buffalo with a bunch of Radhames Liz types and sign one FA BP arm. Liz is definitley a guy I target
  13. That is exactly what it was.
  14. Your reading me wrong . The position player lineup is far and away the best in the majors . The defense is well above average and I believe we have enough position player depth as long as Travis comes back healthy. Pompey, Collabello, and Goins is pretty good depth. I,m just moaning and groaning about ALWAYS lacking pitching. It is going to be very interesting to see how Shapiro fixes this . Opening one hole to fill another doesn't do it but I do understand the Chavez trade as I didn't see Hendricks as a starter. I would love to see us signing some AAA depth pitching and I do see us taking a flyer on a rule 5 draft BP arm.
  15. Good luck with that. Shapiro just doesn't have the budget or the trade chips to add a #2 starter and 3 Backend bull pen pieces. I also look at Chavez as a swingman 6th starter so I'm hoping Hutch rebounds. I guess if he could convince EE to accept a trade he might but I just don't see that happening.
  16. And still is, only this time Shapiro has little in the minors to trade and in fact little money to work with to fix it free agent wise
  17. They have MULTIPLE TOP prospects left ?
  18. I agree that there is time to add more pitching IF they have the budget to do it. I just stated a fact that I believe this pitching staff as it sits won't get us very far. I do not want to have to gut the minors again to add a whole bunch of pieces at the deadline . Lets face it there isn't much left. The Bull Pen needs at least 2 arms and we NEED a decent # 2 type starter. That is a lot to ask when we only have a projected 16.2 mil to spend.
  19. I'm indifferent about the trade. Filled a huge hole but opened a smaller one . What I will state is this rotation is NOT going to win in the playoffs. Now I can see them getting lucky with a BP guy as it happens often enough but no way you get 2 starters to suddenly step up like Estrada did last year.
  20. Thx for updating the budget post BTS. So assuming the 140 mil budget number we have 16.2 to spend with one more SP needed and a couple of relief arms which definitely isn't enough. Only way i see to free up money is to move Revere. Trading Revere and cash for a relief arm seems the best scenario we can hope for because he does not get us as good a starter as we need. That would leave us with 18 to 20 mil to spend.
  21. Yikes, scary thought. Rogers wouldn't do that would they ?
  22. Trade was about starter depth and man we needed that. Very few teams have ever gone thru a season using less than 7 starters. I liked Hendricks but I did not see him as a starter yet it fills a hole and opens one. Still looking for us to grab another starter and a reliever or two but budget is going to be tight.
  23. And who the hell is Pendleton
  24. LOL at some of the comments about this article 1 hour ago TorontoDave DO NOT TRADE PILLAR. Worst ... trade ... idea ... ever! 1 hour ago Mats Naslund was awesome Nooooooooooooooo! 2 hours ago Chris Jones Trading Pillar would signal to fans that they've given up on winning a world series 2 hours ago John Summerhill These rumours come from the same place that states Price is going to a different team everyday. No facts at all. 3 hours ago funstuf would be one the last Jays I would trade, he was awesome this year! Robert Woodburn I understand Pillar's trade value will never be higher but they plays he makes on the field with his glove is infectious and makes the team play harder. He's young and extremely talented and the type of player that seems to get along with everyone. Why would you trade that away so another team can benefit. You have players you can get rid of...Revere, Pendleton, Saunders, Travis...just to name a few.
