Have no idea what the revenue for the Jays is in American dollars but MOST of their expenses, Minor leagues, drafting and scouting, and MLB salary is in US dollars. Every fan wants a huge budget but I can't see how anyone can b@tch about a budget of 140 US. The last time the Canadian $ was real low the Jays received some league money to mitigate this. Anyone know if this cash is available again

Yes I have no idea what the budget will be. If the Can. dollar was par I would agree with you but with it at 75 cents I think Rogers is being pretty good at 140 mil.

Hey i posted I like Revere in this lineup because we have power at other positions but look at his value at the deadline last year. We paid very little for him. We have 20 million to spend and in need of 4 pitchers one of which has to be a #2 type starter. Can't win in the playoffs with Stroman and a bunch of 4/5s. Can he be traded ? Not likely at the salary he makes. If he can great . i look at it this way, Pompey in left and Iwakuma plus Lowe and another BP piece is better than Revere, Pelfrey and Lowe. It is all about the Budget. Give me an extra 10 mil and I gladly keep Revere.

He is a huge upgrade in the pen and the Jays need that but can they afford it. That would only leave 12.5 mil to spend unless they DFA Revere which I'm now thinking they just may have to.

If Shapiro can get a pitcher for Revere and free up the 6 million it would just make our chances of building a pitching staff much easier. I don't see this team going far in any playoff with Stroman and a bunch of 4/5 starters. I firmly believe Sanchez should be in AAA learning to pitch.

Every players has his price. If Desmond has signed elsewhere and the Mets offered Wheeler, Montero, Alvarez and Amed Rosario for Tulo and 15 mil I would do that deal. Then they announce Travis,s surgery. As that one poster would say " I,m Dumm " -
A,s might be the only fit for Revere but how much money would we have to eat. Does Revere have any value at say 4 million? i don,t mind Revere on this roster with all the power elsewhere in our lineup but I like the 6 + mil and Pompey a hell of a lot better. I have no idea how Shapiro can fill out the pitching staff with only 20 mil to spend and a gutted minors. Does anyone see another fit for Revere.

I think the best plan if they had the money would be to sign a Iwakuma / Lackey type and replace them in the bull pen then have Hutch, Sanchez and Osuna compete for the 5th starter with the other two in AAA as the 6th and 7th starters. Unfortunately they don't have enough budget room.

Exactly. And so should have Osuna. And that is where they should be this year but since we have a need of at least 3 pitchers and only 20 mil to spend they will both be in the bull pen.

I would not mind Rich Hill on a one year say 5 mil deal. However from what I read a lot of teams are interested in him.

If we can get a Tirado type prospect back for Revere I'll be very happy. Pompey needs to start this year and hopefully Saunders can be the 4th outfielder at a lower cost. AA traded enough prospects, time we started getting younger.
