  1. You're right. Good hitters making contact, rarely striking out, finding holes in the defense, driving in runs with runner's in scoring position, often with two strikes or two outs. Awfully boring baseball. Then it is also boring to watch a dominant bullpen shut down everything after the 7th. Boring also includes watching the Royals play defense catching about everything that comes their way. They have been doing this for the last two years. There is nothing flukey about what they are doing. I guess you don't like watching winning baseball.
  2. I get why some of you are upset, but let's get real here. Bautista and Donaldson are two of the biggest jackasses in the league. Bitch and moan about every call and throw their teammates under the bus. Hell, the first base coach of the Jays was talking s*** last night. Every team has some immature idiots, but Toronto has more than their fair share
  3. Right, Yost has 0 idea of what is going on and you would fire 20 managers. You a GM yet?
  4. Ned makes his mistakes but is a fairly decent manager. He blew last game, by not warming up Medlin early, allowing Cueto to get killed even more. Cueto had 40+ pitches after two innings and clearly wasn't on (the Jays were doing a great job of fouling off a ton of pitches. He then proceeds in the third to give up a single, walks a guy on 4 pitches, and then gives up the bomb. Worse decision of the series by far. I think he was thinking way too much about being up 2-0, but that is no excuse. The Royals were hitting well last night and if they could have kept it close after the 3rd inning, who knows.... However, Escobar leading off works. The statistics don't play out like the stat geeks want, but the Royals, somehow, win with him leading off. As of right now, Escobar could very well be the MVP of the series if the Royals are able to win the series. He is 8 for 14 with 6 runs scored and 2 RBIs. If the Royals hold on today, Ned is 17-7 in the playoffs in the last two years
  5. I think it was a good move. You have to take gambles. I read a quote from a GM saying when you are close to winning a championship, you need to go all in because you don't know when you are going to be that close again. In other words, it isn't easy winning a World Series or going, so therefore you need to take the risks in order to move ahead. Royals did the same thing with Cueto (gave up a lot). Didn't look like a good trade until game 5 against Astros. Without Cueto, Royals aren't playing right now
  6. At this point, not really. Escobar has 3 hits in two games, including two doubles. While Gordon is a better hitter, I wouldn't say he is the best hitter on the team As someone mentioned, for whatever reason, the Royals win with him leading off. At this point, I think it is a moot point. And by the way, Ned is now 16-6 in his last 22 playoff games
  7. This is a tough call for Ned. Rios has been a pretty big disappointment most of the year. However, he did have a huge hit against the Astros and delivered again today. Don't think Dyson would have gotten those hits. He can't hit. Much better fielder though. He would have caught the ball Rios missed on the dive. In the end, it didn't matter
  8. This happens at just about every game in the big leagues
  9. Where have you seen that Young is going to start Game 4? I thought I saw the probables before game 1 and don't remember seeing his name, although I can't remember for the life of me who it was? Medlin, maybe, although that doesn't seem right. It honestly is going to come down to homers. Royals gave up 0 at the K. Not sure how many of the Jays hits in the first two games would have been homers. Maybe the one that Orlando caught to end Game 1?
  10. It was the fans. A buddy was at the game and sitting near the field where the play took place and he said tons of people in the stands were yelling "I got it, I got it"
