  2. You know times are tough in Blue Jay land when we have to pull the bjmb hr contest at the end of June.
  3. This is fine but it doesn't answer my question. As you yourself wrote, "but for some reason". You know what that reason is? I think it has something to do with Atkins selling snake oil. While Springer was looking washed these past months Lukes was on the farm putting up .949 ops. and not getting a sniff. It really doesn't matter what kind of numbers he puts up, he isn't going to get the call. Why, because Atkins knows that other than perhaps DS, Orelvis, and perhaps Tiedemann the farm system is a mirage. That's why he won't have a fire sale at the deadline. He knows the resulting lineup will produce horrendous results. It's a bitter truth. Barger, Horwitz, Clement are not saviours, they're place holders.
  4. CD please...you know what that stuff does to your neocortex?
  5. One of the few games I missed this season. Looks like I picked a good night to take off. Lots of gloomy Gus' in this thread.
  6. June 14 Vladdy - 2 Points Varsho - 2 Points Jansen - 3 Points - Dylan Schneider- 3 Points - Omar Turner - 3 Points Springer - 4 Points Bichette - 4 Points Kiner-Falefa - 7 Points Clement - 8 Points The Bench (Any PH): 10 Points
  7. The long game could be that they fall out contention big time and have a plan b or c to move Bichette
  8. This org doesn't seem to trust their AAA numbers or puts little stock in them. Who knows why?
  9. I don't see how this is going to make a difference in terms of the overall competitive balance tax. The threshold for 2024 as per the collective bargaining agreement is $237 million for fiscal 2024. It looks like the Jays will end up at around 224 million for this season barring, any considerable addition at the trade deadline. So it looks like they're in the clear in terms of the competitive balance tax for this year.
  10. I suspect that being overly pessimistic is deep down a coping mechanism subconsciously. Not being able to face the reality that your beloved team is not what you had in mind hurts deep down. Gone are the bright hopeful days of spring training. In it's stead we have a bevy of underachievers who don't even know we're alive. So the only outlet is to lash out, like a jilted lover. In turn, one heaps scorn and derision on the one they love, in this case the Blue Jays. I can't/won't be hurt if I don't give away my heart. Damn you Blue Jays! Damn you all to hell!
  11. He's gone hanton. It's going to hurt for a bit, but let him go.
  12. Hence my point about Bo's silence.
  13. Don't you guys have jobs? GDT's in the afternoon in the middle of the week.
  14. If he is close with his old man and this is untrue then why no words of defence?
  15. The fact that Bo remains silent on the issue speaks volumes.
  16. No. He was s*** that's why. You think they care about Biggio's piddly contract when they are in luxury tax threshold?
  17. Imagine the reunion of Biggio and Teoscar when he arrives in LA. It will be like Red meeting Andy at the end of The Shawshank Redemption. I'm getting teary eyed just thinking about it.
  18. Calling it now: World Series MVP!
  19. "Cooperstown hired my dad to work with thousands of children. As a coach, my dad SEVERELY abused me as a child. Whether they knew about him before hiring him, I don’t know,” Bichette wrote in a series of Instagram stories. “During MY youth baseball years, I was being beaten either during or after bad performances by my father. I watched him physically fight my coaches, other coaches, fans, and many umpires. It makes me sick to my stomach that Cooperstown has given him a platform to speak in front of children and potentially influence the kids, the parents, and the coaches. On a personal note, I’m absolutely dumbfounded by his acceptance of the role.” Dante Bichette Jr. https://dailyhive.com/toronto/dante-bichette-blue-jays-coach-abuse
  20. Wow. That is an amazing stat.
