Ross Atkins on Blair&Barker today regarding the future of John Schneider:
"He has my full support. He is tough, smart, prepared and he has the clubhouse."
Yes, that would put him ahead of Harper, Freeman, and Goldy. We would paying for youth and prime years. Cost of doing business with young free agents. Salaries will likely continue to escalate in the years to come so...
Are we going to beat these clowns and win the series tonight?
The Toronto Blue Jays and the Boston Red Sox wrap up their three-game weekday series at Fenway Park on Wednesday night. The Blue Jays have fallen off the pace in the AL East and came into this series in last place in the division. The Red Sox have been playing their best baseball of the season and are in the thick of the wildcard race.
The pitching matchup on Wednesday will be Blue Jays' righty Yuriel Rodriguez (0-2, 5.94) taking on Red Sox righty Kutter Crawford (3-7, 3.59).
Next year I (or someone else) should put up a poll asking "how many games do you think the Jays will win this season?". Reason being is that some (a lot?) of posters come on here complaining about every aspect of the roster with hindsight tucked away nicely in the rear view mirror. They don't stick their necks out on a position but are the first with " See this team sucks..."
I thought this team would win 87 games this season and make WC3. Thought the bullpen would be great. Didn't like the signings of IKF, Turner, and KK. It's all there if you look for the receipts.
Next year put up or shaddup!
Last year a lot of posters on this board were lamenting the Varsho trade. In fact, I can count on one hand the number of posters who said to be patient and not judge Varsho on a few months of data.
Perhaps consider this before chasing posters away from this forum.
