As for Laine vs Matthews, every analyst figured that Laine would have a better 1st season in the NHL, but Matthews will be a #1 centre by year's end and you always take a #1 C over a #1W if you don't have either on your roster at that time. Ehlers, Scheifele and Laine are a better line than Hyman, Matthews and Nylander.

I love the Leafs, but agree with BB that Leafs fans are some of the worse. Every top free agent or player on the trade block just has to come to Toronto, and yet it rarely happens and we get pissy and let down. I think a lot of it has to do with the media. I can see why other fans dislike the Leafs fans. We have some strange sense of entitlement even though we haven't won a cup since '67. I see nothing wrong with fans cheering for a top 5 pick if the team doesn't have a shot at the playoffs. I've been guilty of doing this. In the last ten years I don't know how many times the Leafs have been a bottom dwelling team in the standings, then worsen their draft position by winning the majority of their final games after being eliminated. This would be used by management to say "Well the team played great down the stretch, if they play like that next year the playoffs will be easy to make!" which created a vicious cycle. Great management is in place, a great young core is being made in the NHL with one of the youngest and most talented AHL squads. The Leafs are on the rise, so some fans are going to be more unbearable in the future!

Well done, King, on opening it up to everyone. It will be obvious if a list is a troll job or not. Everybody values certain prospects differently, more people submitting lists creates more discussion and makes the ranking that much more reputable. Look how different FG, MLB, BA, BP, ESPN, etc top prospect lists are, but you get a better understanding of which prospects to watch for (Besides the well known top tier).

Your goaltending is so good that just having 2-4 starts a week between them will win you most categories. it will make teams play their backups, which may work in their favour, but could also blow up their sv% and GAA.
