I hope every reliever that wasn't on the team before the September callups don't even get looked at for the Yanks series.
They've really destroyed our bullpen numbers as of late.
Has Joey Bats ever gone full out George Brett style Apesh*t like Votto just did though? Bats of course barks at them a lot but can't remember last time he actually blew over in that similar fashion.
We're gonna lose the series to Sox who were recently beaten by Yanks in their series, while Yanks lose the series to Orioles who we just beat in the previous series... funny how this ended up balancing out.
I hope this is like 1993 where both teams lost at the same time in early September thus Yanks couldn't take advantage. Then we just simply kicked it up to another gear rest of the way afterwards to run away from 'em.
Cuz of Hutch/Kelly pitching incredibly slow and in deep counts, plenty of foul balls, Sox having extended innings, etc.
Without a doubt the most painful game I've watched this year.
I'm not as concerned about the blowout since for all three of our blowouts, it's been our back end pen guys that has made the damage look much worse than it is. And two of the blowouts were Hutch starts which we always knew had a good chance of blowing up... at this point, I'm more concerned with some of our bats cooling down.
Noticed this too, barely anything is being hit squarely on the barrel. Even that hit yesterday was a weak bouncer that just happened to find a hole. And it seems like his K's have increased a lot ever since he was moved into the 5 hole...
I wonder just how much our new September mopup guys have f*cked up our overall bullpen numbers compared to August... lol. Maybe it would have been better the 40 man expansion never happened at all at this pace.
We just need Moseby, Fernandez, Gruber, McGriff, Bell, Whitt, and Junior Felix coming into this game, we know they can make a comeback from this situation.
Again, using back end bullpen guys within reachable deficit and having it get out of hand... same story as our previous two blowouts.
I'm gonna be pulling my hair out if Gibbons happens to pull this s*** again vs Yanks.
We can definitely still claw back 5 down with 4 more innings to go. We just need to start chipping away starting right next inning.
Looks like some jawing was going on between the two dugouts so hopefully this fires up our guys.
Even Hendriks is coming back down to earth as of late it seems.
Just gonna have to cheer for Orioles to pull one off today. Hopefully even if they lose they at least threaten enough for Girardi to use Bet/Miller again.
And I wouldn't say that our pen has been even been remotely close to being overworked either... at least not our main pen guys.
Girardi is going overboard in that sense but conversely I feel that Gibbons is being too conservative with it.
I'm honestly glad we even got one that inning the way we've been hitting lately.
All I ask is for the pitching to shut them down the rest of the way. Please no back end pen guys for this one...
