Better than Pat Lafontaine and Jack Eichel? Damn. Arizona's gunning hard for him, though. Being a Scottsdale, AZ native doesn't hurt for them too. They get $5M extra floor room by taking on Pronger's contract too to not spend on players.

Kessel had to go, absolutely. I don't like the deal much from a value standpoint (matter of fact, the Pens bent us in this regard), but not only do I like Kapanen, but I also like the fact that the rebuild is officially on. The culture change will indeed happen. Expecting Phaneuf now to return a cap dump, a mid round pick, and a hot dog, but oh well. Nonis was an idiot for handing out those absurd contracts in the first place.

Citi Field is gigantic. Well known pitcher's park to help a flyball guy like Dickey. And Dickey had 2 very good seasons in 2010 and 2011 before 2011. So it's not that outlandish.

Dickey with a hurrrrrible start to the inning, but at least he got out of it with only 2 runs against. And I don't know what's more embarrassing for Martin, going full Moises Sierra baserunning, or getting chased down and caught up to by Sandoval.

Even if all of Boston's picks turn out to be really good players, that's still horrendous asset management. Because you could've drafted those same guys late 1st or in the 2nd round, and had at least 3-4 extra picks and kicks at the can to show for it by trading down to that range.

Mediocre debut. Apart from giving up Hr's to the 8 and 9 hitters, he wasn't that bad. I don't see him as more than a 4th starter, and that's a big maybe.

so apparently George Karl wants Cousins traded away because he doesn't fit his uptempo system. Yeah, seriously. I'd move the earth, sun, and a ton of players just to get him. He may be a risk, but his stats and talent are franchise level. He'd be the first legit franchise player we've had in over a decade. He's quite easily the best C in the league now. Of course, knowing how much of a moron Casey is and how much influence he has despite being completely inept at his job, it won't happen.

Cueto is a legitimately elite pitcher. Last 5 years of sub-3 ERA and low-3 FIP. He's utterly elite. It's not like Dickey who relied on a pitcher's park with a flyball pitch.
