Problem is, this is the Rockies we're talking about... I mean, how many legitimately decent, just decent upper-mid rotation guys have they developed? I can probably count them on one hand: Ubaldo Jimenez and Jhoulys Chacin. That's it. 2 decent pitchers in 2 decades. They were both pretty much one year wonders too and never reached anywhere near that 1 year level since. Hell, even going outside for help hasn't helped them. Darryl Kile (RIP) was an unmitigated disaster in Colorado, and Mike Hampton ended up becoming one of the worst contracts in the history of pro sports.
Like, I legitimately do wanna see Hoffman and Castro do well in Colorado. I really do. But I am legitimately worried for their development because Colorado is absolutely inept at it.
