I'd like Samardzija and Zimmermann very much in that case. Samardzija would be a good buy low. Look at his pitch usage this year compared to previous. For some odd reason, Don Cooper is being an idiot and having him use the cutter far more than normal and the 4 seamer far less than normal. That cutter is really getting hit around and not very effective. Zimmermann is pretty much a lock for 3+ year in and year out. You could expect reasonable for Shark and Zimmermann to combine for 6+ and provide multiple waves of depth, while Price, will probably give you 5.5-6, but that also means throwing a negative out there on the mound in the 5 spot (Sanchez).
Anyways, re: Heyward, I wouldn't mind him at all at 7-8 years since he's only 26.
