Also can't help but wonder what might have been if we had Travis/Cecil/Saunders. -
KC is a good team, no doubt about that..but they definitely had a lot of things go their way that was basically just good luck. Good team plus good luck and you're going to the World Series. Jays didn't execute at times and had plenty of wasted chances, but they also weren't finding the holes that KC did when they made good contact. That's how the playoffs are though. The Jays aren't perfect but they're every bit as good a team as the Royals.

Went to sleep with a lump in my throat, woke up with it still there. I feel lost and will likely feel that way for a week or so before I start feeling normal again. Living and dying with every pitch for all these months takes its toll but now it's time for offseason recovery.

I am grateful, but if I'm being honest, I'm also slightly heartbroken. I feel like I've been through the wringer, it was a brutal postseason overall. Here's to hoping our next trip there will be a little kinder. I know the Cubs got swept and we didn't, but at least their NLDS went well, we got off to nightmare starts in both series. But at least we made it after all these years, and hopefully will again before too long. It was definitely one hell of a ride.

That's how I am too. I would be too f***ing happy to even give a thought to the other team or their fans. So obviously they don't actually get much satisfaction from winning, only from the misery of others. Pretty sad existence.

I can accept defeat when it's fair. I don't go looking and hoping I find things that show we got screwed, I would prefer that it didn't exist, but some things are so blantantly ridiculous. Even saw a KC fan who admitted to the ******** that went on in that game and said that the win felt dirty.

The team in general hasn't really looked that great the entire postseason. It's been pretty ugly for the most part. Still a good season, though.
