  1. Yeah, you totally understand supply and demand and you're not naive at all, but, it's just sometimes you want to post naive posts conflating ethics with business and while there are business ethics that's not what you're really talking about and then you won't let it go because people don't give a s*** about your friend who's privacy you're desperate to protect because we'd all just drop what we're doing to go stalk a scientist working with science! or something. How about that David Price?
  2. I'll never understand why anybody listens to sports call in shows.
  3. You think Stanton is going to be a bench bat when he's 33?
  4. Let's not get carried away.
  5. It's hardly limited to just Toronto.
  6. I wasn't criticizing the signing, was simply saying that the reports are that they're at or very near their limit and it's likely they won't be adding anymore to the rotation.
  7. Reports are that the Jays are done spending on FA's though as they're essentially at the budget limit. If true it's doubtful any impact pitcher will be joining the Jays anytime soon.
  8. Fangraphs is your friend. http://www.fangraphs.com/leaders.aspx?pos=all&stats=sta&lg=al&qual=0&type=8&season=2015&month=0&season1=2015&ind=0&team=0,ts&rost=0&age=0&filter=&players=0&sort=15,a
  9. He does say 'a pretty mediocre starting rotation'. Probably safe to assume he meant only the starting rotation.
  10. I want a neutral option. Deal has upside and some risk. Meh
  11. Well, yes and no. Stroman is a lock for the rotation, dealing him unless for some fantasy just makes no sense. Dickey is a lock for the rotation, whatever his value is is likely less then the 200IP he's good for next season. Estrada is a lock for the rotation, he didn't re-sign to be a pen arm. Happ is a lock for the rotation, he didn't sign to be a pen arm. There's really only one spot open and that will be Chavez/Hutchinson or a FA as it is early, but, this rotation is essentially locked in imo. Either people like it or they don't, but, I'd say it's at least 80% locked in as of right now.
  12. Humberto Quintero says hello.
  13. It's not that Martin handled them badly, it's that they seemed to really beat him up. I'd rather get a defensive catcher who can handle Dickey. Whether it's Thole, Kratz or somebody I'm rather indifferent.
  14. I'm glad everyone is ok, but, can ou ask your brothers girlfriends aunts daughter (that really is a mouthful and makes me want to watch Spaceballs again) just what the f*** she was thinking bringing a baby to the game?
  15. Only if he's healthy and when they took Tepera that tells me he isn't. I doubt he's improved much over the last couple of days so I think it's very doubtful we see him.
  16. If EE gets dealt I just can't see it being to an NL club where he was to play the field everyday.
  17. They've said they're only bringing 11 pitchers. And that spot seems up for grabs. They've been using Loup, but, only for one batter quite often. Schultz, Tepera, Delabar all scare me much more then Loup.
  18. I don't post here much as I'm too lazy to keep up, but, I've been an admin and mod for years. Feeling the need or needing to create a thread like this is essentially an admission of failure of the mod group. Deleting posts is absolutely the LAMEST thing that can be done(pure spam or something really bad obviously excepted). A mod is just a poster and should be treated like everybody else. They are no better and if a mod or mod group feels they are then this board is doomed. It's why HF is a dump, the mods are gods and allowed to do whatever they want and they do. I don't know any of you from a hole in the wall so please don't take this the wrong way. Go Jays Go!
  19. Yup, people bitching about sub-ideal lineups is laugh out loud funny. How many managers follow that on a routine basis? Gibby isn't perfect, but, he's pretty steady and generally avoids doing something colossally stupid. When a player earns his trust he seems to lean on them too much sometimes and avoids guys he doesn't have that relationship with yet. Seems like a steady voice in the clubhouse who encourages players to police themselves which can backfire depending on who is in the clubhouse. Seems fine to me, but, I don't expect any Manager to be a sabr guy yet nor do I expect ideal lineup optimization.
  20. No idea on all time records, but, in terms of just Jays records... 2000 Delgado 41 Batista 41 Fullmer 32 Cruz Jr 31 1998 Canseco 46 Delgado 38 Green 35
  21. Yeah he did in Colorado, but, I think that was more a had to then a wanted to. I know one of the first things I seen from Hawkins after the deal is how excited he was to be back to sea level lol.
  22. I never said bandwagon. Why are you being so dramatic?
  23. Fantastic insight. The only thing separating a glove first player from a scrub is his defence! You can say the same about Smoak, Goins, Pennington and now Barney.
