  1. Archer getting Royally owned
  2. Love Reyes almost grounds into DP gets all pumped up
  3. Sure DH Reyes, gotta keep that 88 wRC+ in the line-up!
  4. I've got the solution for Reyes SS: Go with a 2-man OF and 5-man IF with Goins or Valencia directly behind Reyes to mop up all his misplays... this way Reyes can keep his ego in check by continuing to play SS and we now have a relatively solid SS position! Success!
  5. Another s***** White Sox line-up, not even worth my time to post it: 1. Adam Eaton (L) CF 2. Jose Abreu ® DH 3. Melky Cabrera (S) LF 4. Avisail Garcia ® RF 5. Adam LaRoche (L) 1B 6. Alexei Ramirez ® SS 7. Gordon Beckham ® 3B 8. Tyler Flowers ® C 9. Carlos Sanchez (S) 2B
  6. Too bad another lefty, want to see more of Smoak.
  7. You're theory about the landscape of catcher framing being improved across the board is an interesting one, but rather easy to verify: Average Extra Strikes per 100 Framing Chances, totals (includes all player data): 2013: 0.364 2014: 0.446 2015: 0.265 <--- lowest If I expanded this further back I'm sure you'd see an trend upwards, but in 2015 framing ability overall is down significantly over the last 2 years.
  8. $22M for right around average =/
  9. And yet if you were to use Navarro's 2011-2013 data, Navarro would be a slightly above average framer.
  10. You of all people know that projections are based off multiple years of data (usually 3-5). More data is better, especially in catcher framing. 12 games caught in 2015 is pretty much a completely meaningless sample size. We're talking about -9 strikes here.
  11. No he's not, not if you're compiling multiple years of data, in particular the last 3-5 years. In 2014 he was really bad, granted, but the previous 4 years he was actually an average framer, even slightly above average. This year we're talking about a small sample size... -9 strikes in ~800 chances, not good, not terrible either.
  12. Better late than never.
  13. Using 3 games of catcher framing data as statistically valid data is a whole new level of stupid.
  14. Donaldson caught 3 games...
  15. I take it this is your way of tucking your tail between your legs.
  16. You said he's one of the worst, he's clearly not and I corrected you. He's not terrible either he's just poor.
  17. Not really. I've already covered this. Navarro is there #97. http://www.bluejaysmessageboard.com/threads/4504-Catcher-framing-redux?highlight=redux
  18. He's a below average framer (hence why I said some deficiencies), he also has a below average throwing arm (seemingly).
  19. Holy f***, let's move the guy that gives up walks, home runs, passed balls, wild pitches, hits batters, and needs a special catcher, to the f***ing bullpen... GENIUS I TELL YOU!
  20. I can agree with this, give yourself a cookie.
  21. Why do people say Navarro is trash? That s*** gets old and it's just plain wrong. Navarro provided 4 WAR the last 2 seasons, and that is only 1.5 seasons. He's a pretty solid all around catcher with some deficiencies, obviously. He doesn't strike out much and has had a good bat (for a catcher) the last 3 seasons. I think he works well with the pitchers and is probably a good game caller. Also, I've seen much worse blocking from Martin (even w/o the KB).
  22. Here's hoping Danks get's completely annihilated by our offense tonight, which is what I expect.
  23. Yeah, pretty much, and their offense has a lot of potential... ours will always be better, but our pitching...
  24. Sanchez doesn't have a good jaw, he won't be good, mark my words.
