I don't think most of use were Ok for DD straight up guy for Hoffman. We had 14 straight years of losing seasons before DD turned up. And he completely turned the franchise around. We have had guys rated better or as good as Hoffman who turned out to be total busts. I am suprised you guys wouldn't want to give up more for DD he has been a winner everywhere he has been while you guys keep missing the playoffs year after year. The laughing stocks of professional sports. Isn't a few playoff trips worth a couple of prospects?

Valuable as Hoffman? Hoffman is a 22 year old who has never thrown a pitch in the minors who is trying to recover from TJ surgery and was not impressive in college. He is the typical bust guy who is overrated because he throws the ball hard. He has the typical bust profile.

The Orioles are never going to lower demands. If the Jays wait 4 years they can get DD. Angelos would rather have DD manning the tikcet booth at Camden Yards than let the Jays have him for anything less than prime time players.

Well we have a guy for the next 4 years so we will cross that bridge when we get to it. Seems like the Blow Jays are the ones having trouble hiring GM's.

You overvalue Hoffman. No way in heck that the Orioles would have given up DD for only Hoffman. Odds are Hoffman won't amount to anything in the majors.

I don't agree with them. I would take Bautista and Hoffman for DD. Would prefer Donaldson but would settle for Bautista. Make it happen Mr. Rodgers.

You are right. They informed their mouth piece in the press but they didn't inform the Orioles that they were done. They will come up with the prospects. What is their alternative? Keep the current crew and spend another 23 years out of the playoffs.

I am guessing you would be tickled pink if the Blue Jays ever got to the post-season. Two times in three years is better than no times in 23 years. I mean even before the last 3 years the Orioles had been to the playoffs more recently than the Blue Jays. I was going to say the "Blue Jays" are as bad as the "Other bad team" in other league but actually the only team as bad in sports as the Blue Jays are the "Washington Generals" of Harlem Globetrotters fame.

You mean protesting outside Camden Yards? Hoffman is 22 hasn't pitched in the minors yet. Might not pitch in the minors this year. Doesn't have impressive college numbers. Wasn't drafted out of high school. Keith Law says he isn't a top 100 prospect. Hoffman is damaged goods without anything to back up his high draft pick other than he throws hard. And that was pre-surgery. The number of pitchers who are busts with Hoffman' profile are quite high. You aren't going to get DD with someone like Hoffman. Maybe if he is a throw in to a quality major leaguer or a can't miss prospect. Anyway the Blue Jays are an embarrassment. I can tell you people around baseball are upset about the way they are handling the situation from the tampering to letting Beeston and AA dangle in the wind. I am guessing if the Orioles hadn't got a court order for the new commissioners emails and Beeston hadn't opposed him none of this would be allowed to be going on. I would suspect the rest of the owners are going to get upset if this continues. No one wants other teams poaching their GM's under contract. And who is brokering this deal for DD? None of the baseball people could be doing it if it is a success they are out of jobs.

The bargaining agreement is a contract just like DD contract with the Orioles. We would gladly promote Donaldson to team captain and quadruple his salary. Can't stand in the way of a guy getting a promotion could you?

Of course he can quit. But if he quits he is subject to being sued by the club for damages and certainly won't be able to take a job in major league sports.

If a GM has no impact on the field why do they even have the position. They could just let the fans vote on whom to draft and whom to makes trades for.

I think it will be funny after the Blow Jays trade the farm for DD he ends doing the same thing to them in a couple of years and demands to be let out of his contract to become GM of the Yankees.

Well if you threw in Bautista we could throw in Jiminez. To offset some of Bautista's salary while giving you some much needed pitching.
