  1. Nah I wouldn't stop posting because he thinks I'm someone else. The OH had a guy make a whole bunch of accounts probably a year or so ago. It was a fiasco. So I understand if he is apprehensive. I'm pretty sure moderators or the owner of this site can identify people from their ip address and notice if it is the same one creating new accounts.
  2. Haha are you referring to other posters? I think there was a guy that went by the handle Strawdogg and other one that was like CHPiranha. I'm on the Orioles Hangout with the same name. I think I had another handle on there too when I was younger.
  3. I'm pretty sure the few time Drabek has faced the O's he did well. So he's got that going for him haha. I only remember him because I remember his dad playing for the Orioles for a season. Again, I was a kid and the O's totally sucked.
  4. I don't think any of them do it. There's talk about buck and Brady Anderson doing it. Or someone already in the organization. I would rather have that than any of those other guys listed
  5. I'm not wishing Angelos to pass or anything, but I really cannot wait until someone else owns the team. He does nice things for the community and city. But providing for the baseball is not one of them... I think Angelos would obviously prefer to keep DD, but I think he was saying If someone over pays for something, you almost have to do it. If sone one offered me market value for my house, I wouldn't take it. If someone offers a million dollars, I'd take that and sign the papers. But I also don't see why Toronto would over pay. Because they don't have to. I think most of us fans do not want to see it as a promotion (it is) and as a lateral move. I guess count me in the minority that the O's should let him interview and see what happens. It's the right thing to do.
  6. Listening to the radio here in Baltimore. Jim Duquette is on. 1. Apparently you cannot trade major league players for office personnel. So it has to be minor league players. Players Association wouldn't allow it. (I don't know the validity to this) 2. It's sounding 50-50, would not bet the house either way 3. Baltimore is desirable place to be now, what's wrong with letting a GM develop and move on. 4. Mentioned the Orioles would obviously take good prospects for DD (Well duh, players play the games...) Didn't get to hear the beginning of the convo, I'll let you know if the segment is played again
  7. I guess they are thinking Jones, Pearce, De Aza, Lough and Young for OF/DH and some kind of platoon rotation and that 6-8 million is too rich for what he could be used for. Of course he doesn't seem to be pursued hard by anyone, so I guess they are waiting for the price to drop.
  8. Of course, I also never hated the Colts, guess it was a had to be there kind of thing....
  9. I guess I can tolerate it for a year. I don't De Aza is the answer and Pearce just seems like a one year wonder. I guess for one year, why not take a chance? There are many more ways to screw up 6-8 million dollars
  10. I never got the hate for Toronto. I was 3 when the whole All Star game thing went down, so I don't feel that hate. I wasn't there. I just didn't hate Toronto and Tampa when the Yankees and Red Socks are in the same division.
  11. Ah, well maybe he has another 4 WAR season and the O's can get a draft pick. I doubt neither party wants more than a year. He can establish his value and get a long term contract from someone, and the Orioles get some production. I don't think there is such a thing as a bad one year contract. I'd wager he would have a better year than Pearce or De Aza.
  12. Yea I would have to agree. Scherzer wants 200 million and we all know he's not getting that from us. Shields to me doesn't see much of an upgrade. I don't think the Orioles give up the value to get a top of the rotation starter. The Orioles will have to solely rely on Gausman or Bundy to get them to the next level. And we all know how there's no such thing as a pitching prospect... Since I'm here, tell me about Colby Rasmus. The Orioles are rumored to go after him. I remember when you guys got him I was totally jealous. I believe he was rumored in the Bedard trade long ago, but don't quote me on that one. Did he just have a falling out here? He had some solid seasons.
  13. I could not believe he got that from Atlanta. And then to have the surgery like three days later? 3/30 was the max I wanted to do just for nostalgia. But I'm happy that deal didn't go down.
  14. I'm disappointed. It sucks knowing we have been good recently, and that the guy who put it together is leaving. It would be one thing if we sucked and were going nowhere. Honestly, I don't think there were any moves to be made on FA and the trade market seemed dry. I'm a guy with three Markakis jersey's, I wasn't disappointed he wasn't resigned for 40 million dollars. I wanted to keep Miller, but 9 million is a lot to pay for a set up man. I really thought the Nelson Cruz contract was fair. We would probably have to eat year 4 and maybe 3, but you kind of have to do that when signing big players. You pay for immediate production and not future production in baseball.Especially free agency.
  15. Not to derail this thread, but yea I wanted that to happen. Matusz isn't going to do much. And to be honest, I think Wright is better if used the same as Matusz. I thought Snider was actually more than fair value for him.
  16. To be honest, I barely post there. Not that I dislike the Hangout as I visit there daily. There's some good guys over there that know a lot about baseball. I just posted here so that I can get another fan's opinion.
  17. I think he gets packaged in a deal somewhere. With the pick up of Wright who also seems like a LOOGY, Matusz seems redundant. He had an awesome curve ball and change up. I really wanted him to pan out. He belongs in the East though. He seems to get David Ortiz out every at bat haha.
  18. To be honest, I don't think DD would maliciously sit on his hands this off season. It doesn't really seem to be his character. And waiting for a "deal" or project seems to be what he does best. Nelson Cruz basically fell in our laps late last year. Pearce was another project player. Although he did sign Jimenez...not a very good signing so far. Angelos is a horrible owner, but he's a pretty good guy. He cares about this city. So I'm assuming he's being defensive about this situation. I mean, it probably wouldn't sit well with fans if he "gave" DD away. I think he's posturing. I seriously doubt any value will traded over. I would have valued more time to find a GM then trying to get a player out of the deal. Which will probably end up being a career minor leaguer.
  19. Hey guys, Orioles fan here! Personally, I think DD should be allowed to go. I'm a teacher, and this really seems like if I wanted to go to a rival school to be a department chairman. It should just be allowed. What I do think that sucks is the timing. I mean, for all we know this could have been talked about since the end of the World Series, I guess it's all just speculation. I just think it should be done. There's no sense in having someone unhappy doing the a job. The only thing I don't like is how close to the season we are and this situation is going on. He's a good GM and it does feel sucky that he would be leaving. I've suffered a lot as an O's fan. I was so young the last time they were relevant, so I enjoyed the recent success.
