Doesn't moving Osuna for Puig, just fill one hole while creating another. The bullpen is a little thin as it is, moving Osuna doesn't help.

Stroman and Smoak for Blackmon and McGee, or something to that effect. Then take the money we saved on Fowler and sign EE.

Without EE and Bautista this team might not be able to rely on the longball as much as it has in previous years. There is plenty of power still in the lineup, but I would like to see an offense that doesn't solely rely on the home run. I am just not sure Gibbons can manage a team that grinds out runs, by moving runners over and shows more situational hitting. It is something this team needs to be able to do regardless of who is in the lineup, we just saw Cleveland pitch around Toronto's power and they didn't adjust to the way they were being pitched. Now is that on Gibbons or the hitting coach or the hitters? Either way the mentality of the team has to change and I am not sure Gibbons is the answer.

Could be a low risk/high reward signing. Take a shot and see what you got. I would stay away from Lowrie, he will cost too much and he is somewhere between an average to below average hitter, and is below average defensively at SS, and listening to MLB radio, I have heard that some on the A's feel he is worse defensively at 2B. Not worth the money IMO.

Just heard on MLB radio that Dee Gordon is available from the Dodgers. What would it take to acquire him and would it be worth it? His OBP could be better but it has improved every year he has been in the majors. He can play 2B and SS, so he could spell Reyes at SS and as a leadoff guy on days off or in case of injury. Adding his speed to the lineup would be a big plus. If AA could add him without giving up Sanchez or Norris is it worth it or even possible without giving up either of those two.

I was thinking more of minor league deal with an invite to spring training, or a dirt cheap major league contract. I see it as a low risk/high reward signing. IF he can return to what he was before the injuries then we have a very solid starter.

As it stands right now: Reyes Martin Bautista Encarnacion Donaldson But I also like Reyes Bautista Encarnacion Donaldson Martin Donaldson brings a lot of protection to Bautista and EE. The more I think about it, I would be in favor of signing Markakis to play LF, and slot him in the 2 spot. He's another character guy along the lines of Martin and Donaldson.

I think going after Sandoval is more about the stats that he puts up. It seems like the Jays are targeting guys who can change the mood in a clubhouse and have winning pedigree. I don't think going after Headley makes a whole lot of sense, he is a great defender but his bat is below average and he has only had one good year at the plate. I would rather leave Lawrie at 3B and target someone to play 2B, than get Headley.

Blue Jays have a better chance developing an ace from within than signing one on the free agent market.

Jed Lowrie is a free agent so we can sign him, which wouldn't be a terrible idea if he can play 2nd. Though on MLB Radio they were saying that people inside of the A's front office were saying that Lowrie's defense at 2nd is even worse than is defense at SS. Jon Lester is a long shot to come to Toronto, Max Scherzer is absolutely not coming to Toronto. It will most likely take more than 5 years to sign either pitcher and as per club policy they don't sign players to contracts longer than 5 years. Scherzer is represented by Scott Boras who doesn't have a good working relationship with the Blue Jays. I just don't see it happening. I would be overjoyed to get either. I think someone like Jason Hammel might be more getable.

lol apparently, I had to scramble after I posted that to make sure that this forum had an ignore list. I just came here to have a discussion about my favorite team, that's all. So if LA isn't going to go for Navarro, who is? I am sure packaging him can, get us infield or outfield help.

Or it could mean that I just found this forum today and am not familiar with who people are or what acronyms people use on this forum. Either way works for me as you obviously don't have anything important to add to any discussion so I can just go ahead and add you to my ignore list.
