  1. first hard hit ball against sanchez on a hanging curveball
  2. man, sanchez' delivery is really stiff and upright; with that velocity theres gotta be some major injury risk there
  3. weak groundballs for dayzzzz
  4. nice to see him tinkering with a slider... odd though on his interview yesterday on the fan, he said hes not working on any new pitches.
  5. Am I the only one who thinks its a bad idea to entertain castro and osuna as legitimate bullpen options for the team this year? Why would you not want to give these guys ample time and innings to be developed and stretched out as starters going forward? I dont want to compromise the future for this short term outlook. Is there something I am missing but there seems to been an inclination of Castro being a pen guy, which i dont understand at all, he has three good pitches and an ideal frame (of course he needs to put on weight, which is understandable as hes so young!!).
  6. man, still having trouble processing this news. this sucks so bad
  7. im so bummed out right now... just feel an overpowering bleakness
  8. well, stroman already had one failed test.. it would be his second offence
  9. Im so effing scared right now... PLS no bautista injury..
  10. You might want to learn how to read before calling other people illiterate, bub.
  11. That sounds like a pretty cliched quote... In fact, Bautista's response was more of a "middle statement". You keep talking about how the players should focus on playing and "show them you dont need any help"... THATS WHAT BAUTISTA DID! Hes only one guy.. The fact that you think Bautista deserves to be criticized and Janssen doesn’t is such an obtuse point of view. Basing it on the fact that Jose is a “leader”(yes, this is an arbitrary label; where is it determined that Jose has to bear the burden of responsibility?) But hey, criticize management… you don’t do it, PERIOD, unless you’re Casey Janssen or some other player on the blue jays. What are you trying to imply here?
  12. Oh, the irony... Dude, you keeping running around in circles, stick to one argument rather than rambling on (based on rage) like a fool. But you do come up with some good points like "you dont say it, period".... come on man, i thought you were supposed to be smart
  13. Just out of curiosity, if you were in Bautista's shoes as the "leader" of the ball club, what would your response to such questions about the deadline be?
  14. This is a flawed argument; you're assuming cause and effect.. perhaps, as a "leader", jose was speaking on behalf of the clubhouse. I don't quite understand where you are going with this.. You initially said the player/team should just do their job and focusing on winning, well... if we are basing out criteria on that, Bautista's play was more than sufficient as an individual but when the team he is on is carrying up-to 3-4 black holes in the line up, there is only so much he can do. Stop basing your argument off arbitrary labels simply to attempt to justify your position.
  15. I just don't buy that argument, sure bautista was vocal to the media about being disappointed with the lack of activity at the deadline but he wasn't the only one, why single him out? And Bautista, did exactly what he could do at that point: play fantastic baseball (has a 160 wRC+; 2.1 fWAR after the deadline). It doesn't make any difference to me, nor should it you, what the player says off the field if his performance on it, is stellar; this criticism of Bautista specifically is not warranted. I also still stand pat on my stance that the jays should have made a move at the deadline. An acquistion of prado or headley could have made the difference in making the playoffs (heck, i would have been happy with meaningful games in the last week).
  16. What exactly is Simmons' point though? If he's insinuating that Joey Bats frustration carried over to the field, he's wrong. Bautista was a monster down the stretch (also why just call out bautista, this just screams of a moron sportswriter trying to get attention). If Simmons is saying that the Blue Jays didn't need any help at the deadline, again, he's wrong as the jays didnt come close to a playoff spot.
