True, but in this case, it's not to make a deal just for the sake of doing a trade. This team needs another strong arm to be a legitimate contender, period. The current pitching staff will not be able to take on the A's or Tigers in the playoffs. Moreover, this is the first chance we have in 21 years to make it to the postseason. Another arm would actually make the WS a possibility.

Either Norris or Pompey. Not both but I guess one of them. And throw some other guy in the mix, I dunno. Bottom line is first place teams improve their clubs at the deadline. A trade would've definitely boosted the team, in addition to team morale.
