  1. I just want at least one season of him killing it as both a hitter and pitcher. Maybe at some point he'll have to give up the pitching, but one great season would be nice to watch.
  2. Looks tons better. You can see it in his face as well. Nowhere near as round lol.
  3. Yeah looking at that squad the position players were super deep. 6 of them put up over 3 WAR (Well, Johnson, Rios, Glaus, Hill, and Overbay). The catcher combo of Molina and Zaun combined for over 3 WAR as well. Then you had Hillenbrand, Hinkse and Cattalanato hitting solidly from the DH/Bench. Pitching (with Josh Towers putting up like the worst season ever) and SS (I forgot how much Russ Adams sucked) really let them down that year.
  4. 14/20. Couple of sinkers messed me up.
  5. Really seems like he's very committed this winter. Constant videos of workouts and there's no doubt really looking at the videos that he's shed quite a bit of weight. Also going to try and play third in the Dominican. Should be good for him. Hopefully he's able to maintain this work ethic into the season.
  6. Guess they really believe in those 2020 numbers. His velocity was up this year.
  7. Yup she is. There's been others in high level roles but never as GM. Jeannie Buss is the President of the Lakers, but got that through her father, Jerry Buss after he died. She did beat out the rest of her siblings for the role though and is apparently a pretty hands on President.
  8. Except for early in his career, I don't think there's been much else on the field. I'd like to see him signed, but I'm never gonna be a fan of a dumbass like him. Anyone who believes in birther theories is a complete moron. But if the moron can get the Jays further in the playoffs, I'm not gonna complain much.
  9. Honestly was probably overdue for Kim Ng. 30 years in baseball. AGM since like 1999. Glad she finally gets a shot.
  10. Oof. I wonder if it's too late this season for him to adjust back. He still walked loads of people but was pretty good despite that. Wonder why he messed with them.
  11. Have there been any reports about why he's been this bad this year? His numbers are pretty horrific. 31 walks in 31 innings doesn't seem like your usual control issues.
  12. I mean honestly that's basically preferring one horrible pile of crap over a different equally horrible pile of crap. It makes no difference. In case anyone is wondering. 149 games for Brandon Drury as a Blue Jay. Miserable line of 208/253/353/606. And a truly impressive -2.5 bWAR.
  13. According to bWAR Brandon Drury has played 148 games for the Jays and has put up the remarkable number of -2.3. Easily one of the worst Blue Jays I've ever seen get extended time.
  14. 7 players and 6 staffers tested positive? From going out to a casino? Complete and utter idiots.
  15. It's embarrassing how much more sense this clearly makes, when MLB put apparently no effort in having a workable plan. Again the NBA is basically playing in gymnasiums and managed to sort out any video/camera issues and even sound issues to the point where it's pretty cool hearing the game
  16. Also it's kind of f***ed up that the Marlins knew there were multiple positive tests and played the Phillies. Like how the f*** was that fair to the Phillies players?
  17. Matt Davidson was the only guy who didn't wear a mask and is an idiot on his Twitter. Unsurprising he might be the cause of another team seeing infections.
  18. I don't understand why they would let the Marlins play the last game they did? Why not just delay it when the initial positives were reported? What kind of dumbass planning did they have going. This may not cause the season to end yet, but holy crap MLB needs to be doing a better job. This wasn't an impossible job. The NBA organized a bubble (that is in Florida!), and had zero positives in their most recent round of tests. Vast gap between management in the two leagues.
  19. 8 more Marlins players tested positive. And the Marlins - Orioles game is cancelled for tonight. We made it a whole three games in. And this is why there is no baseball in Toronto this year.
  20. There are people in this thread still saying both sides are responsible for this equally which really indicates a complete lack of literacy. There is responsibility on both sides but clearly the majority of fault here lies on the owners. Getting the players to waive the ability to file a grievance is clearly a sign of negotiating in bad faith. Doing this s*** offer in order to delay the season so they can implement a fifty game season is the same. This is clearly on the owners. Someone capable of not being a bootlicker would be able to see that fairly easily.
  21. That... actually looks pretty significant? And it's only November. I mean you can't tell completely, but it definitely looks like a bunch of weight he's lost here.
  22. I don't know about that actually. The Raptors were awful for years and years and still managed to pull decent enough crowds even at their worst. I took a glance at the attendance numbers and they never finished in the bottom third of the league in attendance any year between 2000-2019. And there were some horrific seasons in there with Andrea Bargnani leading the team. Jays have definitely finished many times in that range. It's a bandwagon town when it comes to baseball I think.
  23. Cannot understand why anyone would want Drury back. I guess anytime you can bring a guy back who's provided -1.1 WAR in value over his past two seasons you've gotta do it.
  24. And they've been really bad AB's. He'd have more AB's during that span if at any point during those years he'd shown he could at least kind of hit MLB pitching. He didn't and he continues to very consistently not. 150 games and 0.0 WAR to show for it. He has struck out 152 times during those 418 PA's. I'd love for him to have shown something, but thus far he hasn't shown anything at all.
  25. Oh God, I do not want to watch Derek Fisher be the DH next year. After three years of consistently failing miserably when given a shot at hitting in the big leagues, I think it's ok to start assuming he's a AAAA guy who's going to wind up in Japan. I'm sure he'll have a fine career there, but there's no need for him here. If the FO isn't spending this winter, I'd rather they at least search for another bargain project they can flip for prospects then give Fisher his fourth chance.
