  1. If it wasnt for goins we would really be threatening to blow this open.
  2. Im impressed he laid off on that one. Do we have a man in white at fenway?
  3. This is terrible management. I know you can only work with the pieces you have, but Castro and Osuna should only be used in limited situations... not every f***ing high tension situation in the game. Gibbons needs to be fired sooner rather than later.
  4. I think from now on, im just going to watch the first 7 innings.
  5. Maybe it is some unconventional attempt to stretch out Castro and Osuna so that they can start. Only way to explain how they end up pitching every game.
  6. Loup has thrown 10 pitches... keep him in ffs, he is doing fine
  7. Missed most of the game: So is Sanchez' boxscore some kind of lie?
  8. Baltimore is a shithole... it is a little better than it used to be after they cleaned up the port area but there are still huge income disparities that make for a volatile city. I went to visit my brother there a few years ago. He was working on a movie (step-up). In the 2 months that he was there, he had 2 cars stolen, one of which was broken into 3 times. Homeless and prostitutes were everywhere, the city was very dirty (if you needed a used hypodermic needle, you just had to look at the edge of the road) and at night you cabbed wherever you went because it was simply too dangerous to walk. I have only been in two places where I have felt less safe: Managua Nicaragua after the 2001 election and Athens Greece during the May 2011 austerity protests. Dont get me wrong, I feel bad for the citizens there and hopefully the people with enough money to afford to go to a ball game will realize that they have neglected 80% of the city for too long. Police brutality is certainly an issue, but it is the underlying social issues that create the atmosphere where it festers. /end rant
  9. He has been experimenting with over managing for the last couple years; results are not in yet. I liked the old days myself where everyone kept their position on the field and in the lineup with few exceptions. For example, Goins would be batting 1st today so that Travis wouldnt have to move.
  10. If we can keep Archer's pitch count high, we have a chance.
  11. This is the biggest crowd I have ever seen at the Trop... is today $1000 cheque day or something?
